Remember when our tough DA Lynne Abraham lashed out against Mayor Street for his silent fight on crime?
Well Street fired back today. And lets just say his comments made Donald Trump seem witty.
From the Inky: Mayor Street lashed back at District Attorney Lynne Abraham on Thursday, likening her recent criticism of him to a "little temper tantrum" and remarking that she "goes bananas" from time to time. "Lynne Abraham has a way of reacting like this when she doesn't get her way on budget matters," Street said in a phone interview Thursday.
Once again, a woman won a words war.
Sorry Johnny, Lynne's made some really strong points about your slight response on crime.
And calling her "bananas" was pretty 3rd grade.
Plus, slashing the District Attorney's office budget by 2.5 percent (an official told us today) doesn't seem smart in this blood-soaked city.

You gotta love Street for making the city wireless, but riddled with crime. Cutting the budget is Really going to help our crime problem. Maybe we're looking at this all wrong. Maybe Street is a super-genius, and his ways are above our rank-and-file senses.
Is this a larger plan to just totally cripple these neighborhoods to make them look attractive to real estate speculators? So the neighborhoods bottom out and collapse? Then they get bulldozed and redeveloped? So every working-class family moves out to Montco, or Springfield? So, only young hipsters, with no kids, move in. And, with no kids, they're paychecks with no stake in the public schools? I wonder.

Yah, like, totally, Brittany! Wireless here is going to happen by the year 2050.
I really like the idea of wireless, but it seems like it's mired in the ineptitude of Street's Administration. I can imagine that Street is thinking that if enough people sign up we could throw comcast for a loop; in terms of pricing, competition, and flipping them the bird when cable goes completely wireless (not dish TV, which sucks). Cable serice will go wireless, when wireless routers can handle more than 50-100MB per second. Which will make Comcast's privately owned wires obsolete.
The forward thinking is impressive, it's just we have bigger fish to fry.
