Time to take a break from the all-crime, all-the-time dialogue here to plug a unique effort that supports childhood cancer research -- a cause that's close to my heart. (And thus, the age-old question, "Does Dave even have a heart?" is answered.)
City Deputy Managing Director Thomas Conway and 20 other kind souls will have their heads shaved on St. Patty's Day at the Paddy Whacks Pub in Northeast Philly. The head-shaving extravaganza -- which itself is a show of support for kids who lose their hair from chemo treatments -- will raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. 
St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer fundraising program for childhood cancer research. Thanks to 26,000 people who have willingly had their locks lopped off, St. Baldrick's has raised $20 million for research.

I know. How do you not get excited for a wide receiver who has 12 total touchdowns in 4 NFL seasons? I can't wait to see that duo of Curtis and Brown this season. Who do you think will have more dropped passes?
