Attention Bad Guys:
Stop pointing guns at police.
'Cause yes, they will shoot you.
Or at least try to.
During those rare times when officers decide not to pull their triggers, and you manage to escape, don't get comfortable. The police department will hunt you down.
And no, an officer won’t pump a bullet in your leg or arm just to get you on the ground.
Cops are trained to shoot “center mass” which means in the torso (chest, stomach, heart, etc).
Not pretty, huh?
Philly Confidential knows that some police involved shootings should be scrutinized. Just look at the Raymond Pelzer case.
But as for the 14th fatal cop killing of this year, the death of Anthony Payton, police sources said they felt as if the officers had every right to fire. Cops said that Payton led two 18th district officers on a wild car chase through Cobbs Creek yesterday afternoon. Payton was behind the wheel of a high-priced stolen Caddy. Payton crashed the sedan into a row of sidewalk poles, hopped out the car, and pointed a handgun at the cops, police said. The officers shot Payton dead. A police source said cops also found baggies of crack-cocaine in the stolen Cadillac.
PC would love to know, why do some criminals think they can try to shoot a cop and get away with it?
Solomon Montgomery allegedly took the life of Officer Skerski last month and the police department worked non-stop until Montgomery was behind bars.
So bad guys, stop pulling guns on the men/women in blue. You will always lose.
Posted by simone at June 9, 2006 12:39 PMIf a cop tells you to "freeze", and you turn and run, or reach into your pocket, expect the results to be bad for you. In the case of pelzer, that bad involved lead poisoning.
