It is Sunday evening and this half of Philly Confidential is stuck in the house because of another freakin rainstorm. Although PC focuses on man's conflict with other men, in this case nature is killing man and PC's Sunday night buzz, so this topic is worth a post.
So, what was behind this week's floods and downpours?
There is a big debate out there questioning whether global warming was the culprit behind the recent calamities.
See folks, even if global warming has nothing to do with this obnoxious weather, humans need to do a better job keeping this planet fresh.
This is a bi-partisan blog (crime impacts all political spectrums), but Al Gore's website on global warming has some good tips on how to keep hope, and earth, alive.
PC cannot survive on an uninhabitable flooded planet. There will be no crime to cover. And without crime PC will just wither away.
Posted by simone at July 2, 2006 08:18 PMnice, simone. take better care of the environment so blacks and hispanics can continue to kill themselves and you and your other crime-reporting peers can write your stories and keep getting paid. i suggest first watching gore's movie "inconvenient truth" and really educate yourself on the real need to save Mother Earth.
Using crime just aint gonna cut it.
Do you think PC would really post this comment without watching the film?
In case you missed it, the post is a satirical one.
PC doesn't want people to care about the enviroment so she can continue to cover crime, it is so she can continue to have a planet to live on.
Get it?
PC can only assume that humor is not your best subject.
P.S. Race was never brought up in the post.
Jeez, pal.
Noelle, our new owners have pledged to keep the Daily News open (and me and Simone employed) regardless of the ozone layer or the homicide rate. That said, should we have "Movie Night" at the DN? Popcorn, anyone?
