    CRYSTAL BALLS, WEEK 6

The Eagles got back on the winning track against the New York Jets and here come the defending NFC champion Chicago Bears to the Linc. Plenty of storylines in this one, but the biggest one just might be: Can the Eagles finally put some points on the board when they get into the red zone?

Let us know what you think and you can win a Daily News prize. Pick the score and provide us with a sentence or two about the big play or key moment in the game that we can use as a tiebreaker. If no one gets the exact score, closest predictor gets this blog for next week's entry to pontificate at length.

    Enjoy the game!

    Eagles 42 Bears 10

The key play to the game starts early in the first half with a bomb to Reggie Brown. Hank Baskett makes a key block that allowed him to score.

    Eagles 23
    Bears 20

David Akers field goal to give the Eagles a six point 23 - 17 lead. The Birds D comes up with a big stop only netting the Bears a field goal. McNabb and company move the chains and run the clock out.

    23-10, Birds.

Defense continues to play stingy and forces three turnovers. Offense steady but not spectacular. Akers goes 3-3 on field goals.

Bears win 24-20, on 75yd kickoff return by D.Hester with 3 min., left in game.Eagles had just taken lead on Akers 45yd.,field goal.Bears Super Bowl defense shows up and sacks McNabb 6-times,along with 2 interceptions. Eagles never recover from this stunning loss amd finish the year at 8 wins and 8 losses!!! Let's hope not, anyway!!!

    Eagles 27, Bears 17

Westbrook has a nice day running the ball, but Tony Hunt gets the key, short yardage td in the 3rd quarter.

    Eagles 27 Bears 24

    birds 20-10

    Eagles 24 Bears 17
Lito Sheppard catches the interception and makes the touch down; Brian Westbrook runs it in for the other 2 TD's, David Akers kicks the game ending field goal at the 2 minute warning.

I hope, I hope!!! GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!

    Eagles17, Bears 14
The real Bears defense shows up along with the upstart Eagles "D". Westbrook has 20 carries for 110 tough yards and a score, Avant catches short TD while in the red-zone + Akers kicks the winner as time expires. It will be great to hear Baldi call the game too!

    Bears 13
    Birds 23

Eagles blitz the mediocre Griese (he can't hold his daddy's athletic supporter) and force a fumble and pick, which leads to 10 Bird points, the diff in the game. Marty Morningwed figures out that Thomas Tapeh is wide open when the Bears blanket Westbrook and the dormant one, Hank Baskett, comes to life to light up a Bear's secondary berift of talent. Akers 43, 29 and 37 yarders seal it. 3-3 for the Birds.

I find it amusing that all you Eagle fans are predicting the Birds to score a lot of points. When have the Eagles indicated at all except for the fluke game against the world's worst pass defense that they can score touchdowns? Well, after today's game against the Bears, the Birds have proved once again they are a bunch of duds.

The Eagles are finished. Their best days are in the past. Time to rebuild the team, and the first position to be addressed is the quarterback position. McNabb is horrible. He can no longer scramble to buy time in the pocket. He either gets sacked, or throws a bad pass into coverage or at the receivers feet. Andy Reid should be fired at the end of the year. Since 2004, Reid has not showed me any indication he is capable of turning the organization around. Reid's playcalling, whether he admits he is the one callig the plays or not is horrendous. The Eagles offense is so predictable. The Eagles are a team that never look like they are in a consistant flow. They are not a playoff team whatsoever, and that is pretty bad considering how weak the NFC is these days. The fact that the Bears, a mediocre at best offense drove 97 yards in two minutes to score a winning td is shocking. I sat there and watched the final two minutes of this game is complete disbelief. The inevitable is here with the Eagles. The one time dominant NFC team that had a nice run...is going to come out of it with no Superbowl ring. Another punch to the gut of Philly fans. We never get a break!

As much as I like Donovan McNabb I think it's time for him to take a seat and let Kolb play. This would make the play calling go back to the way it was when Garcia was QB and the Birds would run more. Westbrook needs the ball and he needs to run. They lost to the Giants because they knew McNabb was going to throw just about every down. Nobody seems to notice Buckhalter ran for over 100 yards on very few carries. The Giant's run D stinks. I'm sick of yelling "Run the Ball" all the time. The same in the Bears game. It was throw throw throw and then if the Eagles ever did run it was on 2nd and 10. Capt. Andy loses it when McNabb plays and forgets about the run. Those big Fat guys on the O'line love to run people over so let them do it. The D may have looked bad at the end of the Bears game but it shouldn't come down to that. TD's should've been scored at least twice before in the red zone but Reid refuses to run. Run the Ball!!!!

What exactly is the point of a blog that is only updated about as often as the Eagles run for a touchdown?

    This site is pathetic.

    Attention,Attention,update needed.
