    Updating our contest

As the series shifts back to Pittsburgh, we figured we would again provide an update on our selection contest from before the series began and then noticed a little problem.

Of the 125 entrants, this is what remains:

    Flyers in 7: 33
    Penguins in 6: 9
    Penguins in 7: 3

No one picked the Penguins in 5.

UPDATE: We will have to get on the accounting department since we rechecked the thread and there are six people who selected the Penguins in 5. If the series ends Sunday, one of them would win based on the tiebreaker, and assuming they meet the eligibility requirements.

What do you mean "no one picked the Penguins in 5?" I DID! And so did at least 2 other people. There are three "Pens in 5" picks in a row. Check the predictions from last week geniuses.

The series ends tomorrow girls. I hope everyone for the Flyers dresses. I'm so sick of this "We didn't have Timmo" horse$h!t.

The Flyers can't win this series because the
    PENS ARE JUST TOO LOADED!!!

you're an idiot pens fan who found a flyers blog and you're claiming you know how to predict the future... its like watching a jerry springer show... keep ranting you monkey and keep telling us all about how you can predict the future of a sporting event... Oh and goodluck tomorrow... the pens didn't look intimdated by the flyers urgency knowing they would get hit hard yesterday.... one lucky bounce goal and one mistake by a rookie dman that won't be playing tomorrow... yeah nothing to be concerned about... the powerplay pumped out 20 shots on goal and showed why its one of the best and when the pens got frusterated they started taking dumb penelties... certainly no concern... defintately you're sure right tho... Biron didn't look back to form at all... and our depleted Defence didn't out play your two lines of name players that make any type of difference for your team.... malkin didn't look slugish....crosby didnt look frusterated.... funny ive seen both those looks in a prior series when the flyers went on to win 4 straight.... oh well pens in 5.... HA...

I also picked the Pens in 5!!

Here's the link where there are AT LEAST six "Pens in 5" predictions.

    http://blogs.phillynews.com/dailynews/mt-comments-trythis.cgi?entry_id=7461

I'm not bragging about my prediction. I had a 50-50 chance. There were only two possible outcomes:
    1) Pens in 5
    2) Pens in a sweep

Anyone who picked the Flyers to win this series is a clueless idiot.

The PENS ARE JUST TOO LOADED!!!!

Anyone catch the Vegas line on tomorrow's game?

The Penguins are -260, the Flyers are +220 !!
You don't often see such prohibitive favorites in the playoffs. It's a direct reflection on the talent level of these two teams.

You have to lay $260 on the Pengs to win a $100!
Or you could lay $100 on the Flyers to win $220!

Those are astronomical numbers. You know why?
Because the PENS ARE JUST TOO LOADED!!

Pens are Just Too Loaded: So what you're saying is the Penguins will have accomplished and proved nothing by beating such a "bad team."

    Dear Bob,

Yes. That's pretty much what I'm saying.

Beating the Flyers means very little. But, beating the Red Wings will mean a whole bunch.

It means little to you but you've spent 10 days talking about it. Odd combination.

The Penguins, like myself, have to focus on, and march through the "little people" in order to finish on the big stage.

It's all about the stepping stones from Philadelphia right now. But, in 30 hours, the focus moves west to Michigan.

Game 5 will be a complete beatdown. The series ends on Sunday.

I'll be back here when the Penguins claim their 3rd Stanley Cup in the last 17 years.

The PENS ARE JUST TOO LOADED!!!

Well, i guess my "Flyers in 4" prediction was a bust......unfortunatley I made that prediction before the Timonen/Coburn losses. Oh well, live and learn.

PensAreJustTooLoaded might be the dumbest person in Pennsylvania, if not the United States. Anyone who predicts the outcomes of sporting events and thinks it's a reflection of his/her knowledge of the game is pretty much an idiot.

The Pens have no heart, no respectability. They just have a handful of superstars and a legion of bandwagon fans.

The Steelers are the only good thing to come out of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is to Philadelphia as New Jersey is to the United States.

    Hey Pens,
Sounds like YOU are just too loaded...

You are lucky to even have a franchise. The entire fan base completely disowned the team during the period between Lemieux/Jagr and Crosby. Good thing for you too - without the tanking you never would have gotten Cindy (who, by the way, is good but is not nearly as good as Ovechkin; though he might be a better diver).

My advice - don't make any plans for Tuesday or Thursday night. The Flyers are streaky, and the streak is heading back in the winning direction now that they smell blood. You can also try to talk yourself into thinking that losing Timonen didn't matter, but that only highlights your utter lack of hockey knowledge.

F.U. Jesse. Watch your "heroes" get the snot kicked out of them tomorrow.

THIS SERIES ENDS TOMORROW AT 5:45pm.

The Flyers, and especially their legion of idiots, are very amusing.

Your team is a freakin' joke. Get used to seeing the Flyers being a second or third tier team for the next 7 years. They're just not in the same league as the incredibly powerful Penguins.

THE PENS ARE JUST TOO LOADED!!!

i'd have liked to spend 11 hours of the day waiting and responding to comments on a message board too, but it was really nice outside and i had a lady to be with. oh well. that's what you miss out on when your team is just too loaded i guess.

Are you mentally-challenged? You keep saying the same thing over and over again. People keep refuting your points one by one. And all you do is respond by saying THE PENS ARE JUST TOO LOADED!!! What in the hell are you going to do if the Penguins don't win tomorrow? Any objective person with a brain knows tomorrow's game could go either way. But you just keep pounding your pre-teen, hairless chest saying THE PENS ARE JUST TOO LOADED!!! That's what you call a shortcut to thinking. Where's the analysis in that dipshit!

Can we give Pittsburgh to Ohio?

There's a quick succession of Pens wins. Hmmmm.

Did you read the rules? Multiple entries from the same IP address will be disqualified.

    Dumb troll.

    Dear Bob,
Who do the Flyers play next? Just curious loser.
