CBS' "Survivor" may be coming back for sure, but the fate of "Everybody Loves Raymond" is still up in the air, according to CBS CEO Les Moonves, who's using every argument he can think of to get star Ray Romano and exec producer Phil Rosenthal to re-up.
Including the one that says going off the air in the same season as "Friends," "Frasier" and "Sex and the City" might cause "Raymond" to get lost in the shuffle.
That said, Moonves can still manage to avoid sounding panicky.
"I would hate to lose it, but it's not going to hurt us like [losing] 'Friends' is going to hurt NBC," he said.
Meanwhile, things don't sound great for "Hack." The Philadelphia-based drama is in "a tough time period" (9 p.m. Saturdays) and "we don't know what we're doing" there," Moonves said. That said, "I think it's much better creatively. I think it's lighter, I think it's much better this year." But with the network's having an order for only 18 episodes this season, that's less than a ringing endorsement.
