COME ON, GET HAPPY

VH1's plans to put together a whole new Partridge Family in a "reality" show that will take that particular '70s show on a cross-country bus tour makes perfect sense to former child star Danny Bonaduce (who's participating in the project along with David Cassidy and Shirley Jones).

"The 'Partridge Family' kind of set the stage for reality shows when we voted that first Chris off the island," Bonaduce said this morning.

And what's VH1 looking for from the next Keith, Laurie, Danny et al.?

"In Danny's case, we're looking for someone to be funny -- " said Cassidy.

"-- and hire a really good legal defense team," added Bonaduce.

Bonaduce, asked about what he'd learned from reading Cassidy's memoir about his time on the show, admitted he'd heard rumors about the actor's brief fling with Susan Dey, who'd played their sister Laurie.

But the only rumor he'd ever heard for which there was physical proof, he said, was the one that said that Dey was limiting her diet to carrots.

His first thought, he said, was "Well, that can't possibly be true. And then her flesh turned orange."
