Wrangling TV critics is like herding cats - or it would be if cats weren't such finicky eaters.
Conventional wisdom is that we'll go anywhere we're fed, but not even the promise of breakfast could get BET, the first network up on a 14-day marathon of press conferences, parties and promotion, a full crowd for an 8:45 a.m. session.
It's safe to say that some of those who did make it were there for Robin Givens, who'll be co-starring next month in a BET movie called "Book of Love," which supposedly explains "why men are dogs."
Mike Tyson's ex might have had something pithy to say on that topic, but unfortunately, she was the tour's first big no-show, reportedly ill in Florida and unable to fly here.
I'm betting, though, that she won't be the last.
While it's unexpectedly sunny today -- so far -- L.A.'s been a wet and scary place lately, and even Angelenos like to stay off the road when it's raining.
