PLAYING IT STRANGE

Everyone thinks he or she could be a network programmer, but it takes a certain kind of nerve to do those jobs.

A lot of nerve, as a matter of fact.

Take Fox, which today announced it would be offering "closure" to the 4 million viewers of the apparently now canceled "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss" by showing the five unaired episodes on fox.com.

But it gets better.

Starting Monday, fox.com will also be offering the entire run of "Playing It Straight," which Fox canceled last season after the first three episodes averaged only 3.9 million viewers.

And it's doing it on a pay-per-view basis.

Which means that viewers would be charged to watch a show that most of us refused to watch for free when it was on Fox.

Don't feel like ponying up to find out whether Whatsername ended up choosing a gay guy or a straight one?

Worry not: The results were announced months ago on fox.com.

She chose, as they say, wisely.
