'PRACTICE' STAR MIGHT NOT BE PERFECT

CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler met with TV critics this morning for the first time since her promotion and it went pretty well.

Though Ann-Margret -- not to mention Camryn Manheim -- may not be taking her calls for a bit.

In announcing the network's May miniseries on Elvis, which stars gorgeous Irish actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Tassler stumbled and said that Manheim would be playing Ann-Margret.

Whoops. She meant to say she'd be playing his mother.

Quipped Tassler's boss, Les Moonves, not helping: "Who says creative casting is dead?"
