Wayne Newton's not the only one looking for someone to pass the torch to.
On Oxygen, the women-centered channel that hardly anyone in Philadelphia can get, they're searching for "Mr. Romance" on a tongue-in-cheek "reality" show created by KISS' Gene Simmons and hosted by Fabio, the Harlequin hunk who's now mostly famous for being famous.
Even a Harlequin hunk, though, can have a philosophy of life, and Fabio's no exception, explaining that his is that "life is too short [and] I don't take myself seriously."
I'm having trouble taking Fabio seriously myself, and I spend part of the session wondering how much time he has to spend blow-drying his trademark hair, which is the one thing the contestants on "Mr. Romance," most of whom look like refugees from "Average Joe," seem to have in abundance (though not always on their heads).
Finally, unable to take it anymore, I ask if he's ever, well, thought of cutting it or if that would just end his career.
"One day maybe I will," he replies. "I've never really thought about it."
