MORE EX-FILES

First it was Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, one on CBS and one on UPN, and today it's Don Johnson and his very much former wife Melanie Griffith, at back-to-back press conferences for the WB.

Johnson was up first, with his new Jerry Bruckheimer legal drama, "Just Legal," in which he plays an unlikely mentor to a teenage lawyer (Jay Baruchel). We made it through almost the entire session without asking either a) whether the session started later than scheduled because Johnson was late; or b) how he felt about Griffith's working on the same network.

Still don't know about the late start, but clearly Johnson was ready for the ex question, because when it finally came, he did a mock double-take and replied, "Melanie's working?"

"It was a joke," he then added. "Of course I know she's on the network, and I'm delighted for her."

Griffith, here right now for "Twins," in which she plays the mother of grown twins -- but would rather we not focus on the fact that she's playing actress Sara Gilbert's mother -- has already made it through the Don question.

"I'm really happy for him," she said brightly. "I'm even happier for our daughter, because her trust fund is going to be really healthy."
