Heather Graham's here -- wearing a floor-length plum gown with strategic cut-outs on the front -- and once again, we're displaying the self-loathing that we so often default to when faced with Actual Movie Stars (or even Mere Starlets).
In other words: Heather, you have a thriving movie career. What are you doing in a TV show?
Graham, whose midseason comedy for ABC, "Emily's Reasons Why Not," is kind of a cute take on the sexual and romantic adventures of a young career woman, based on the novel by Carrie Gerlach, delivered the usual answer.
"I just think that I gravitate toward good material," she says.
Material like, yes, NBC's "Scrubs," where last season she had a multi-episode arc as a doctor.
Oh, and after guest-starring -- as herself -- on HBO's "Sex and the City," she became "obsessed" with the show.
But as anyone here could have told her, that's not television. That's HBO.
