YOUR PLACE FOR 'IDOL' CHATTER

When I fall in love...it won't be with Chicken Little.

Yes, Kevin Covais is finally out on "American Idol," and our short national nightmare is over. In fact, I'm liking the boy more already, now that his devoted fan base is no longer responsible for sending better singers home.

And because my 16-year-old son -- who's currently rooting for Kellie Pickler and Taylor Hicks -- isn't necessarily interested in discussing my theories about how "American Idol" saved Ace Young this week by giving him the show's sweet spot and then pretending his performance actually merited it, I'm going to need other people to talk with about this stuff.

Which is where you come in.

Yes, you -- lurking there, wondering if it's OK to join the conversation.

Please do. Just hit the comment button and tell me where to get off (and even why I'm wrong about Ace).

I'll be here on Tuesday nights during "Idol." And if you, like me, can't stop babbling about the show but would rather spend time with people who won't accuse you of sounding like Paula Abdul, this is the place to be.

See you Tuesday.

Larry:

Kelly Pickler should be going home tonight. I agree that thankfully Kevin is gone. I think the final 2 will be Taylor and Mandisa.

Ellen Gray:

I wouldn't mind seeing Kellie go, but Simon would be VERY sad. And I fear she may have a Carrie Underwood-sized audience standing behind her, dialing fingers at the ready.

Denise:

This was the most boring Idol show I have ever seen.Kellie Pickler is AWFUL!She comes across as totally unintelligent. Aces spaced out stare is way too much..cant stand it.And he sang the song way to slow and off key.Bucky will have to go also.I liked Taylor Hicks and Chris Daughtrey and Elliott Yamin.I think any other Creed song would have been better for Chris.(Arms wide open)They have real talent.I really dont care for Paris..she is way too full of herself.I love Mandisa but last nite was just ok for me as Randy would say.I am really disappointed in Lisa Tucker.I thought she was the one to beat at first..she needs help bigtime on song selection. She has a great voice which has not been really shown with the songs she picks.I didnt care for Kathryn McPhee at all.

Lee Alford:

I can assure you Kellie will not being going home tonight....she is too much of an public entertainer....I think she will make it to the last 5 and then be voted off as the first runner up. There is a lot more going on here than just her voice....she appeals to a broadbase of fans.

Ellen Gray:

I know. Carrie Underwood's base. And she's not going home tomorrow night, either.
