'ONCE' IS NOT ENOUGH

Hmmmm...Looks as if Chris Daughtry, not Taylor Hicks, will be getting the showy final spot tonight. (Chris and love songs? We'll see. Or hear.)

David Foster, though, thinks Taylor has potentially the most charisma, a "very, very important part of being a star."

Bocelli, who'd been curious about Kellie's hair color, doesn't even bother asking Foster about Taylor's.

"Just Once" is all the gray-haired crooner gets tonight, and it's not enough. Not for me, not for the judges.

Five contestants in, I'm wondering if they may not have been hitting all the "Idol" extras -- the commercials, etc. -- too hard this week, because so many of them sound as if they're pushing their voices harder than they should just to get through the song.

Time for some tea with honey?
