PASSING THE BUCKY

Surprise, surprise: Bucky, not Kellie, scores the sweet spot, as he brings up the rear for "Idol's" Country Night.

"If you miss a part of the story, it really makes no sense," says Kenny Rogers after advising Bucky to "over-enunciate." To no avail.

Kenny's right.

It makes no sense.

Randy revives "pitchy."

Paula and Simon, apparently not having listened even that hard, give Bucky a half-hearted pass.

J.T.:

1. Elliott - doesn't look the part of country boy, but sounded terrific.
2. Katherine - the whole package.
3. Kelly - blonder ambition.

Ellen Gray:

My reservation about Katharine is perhaps that she feels a bit too packaged. I can see her on a WB show more than I can on the cover of a CD right now (not that one precludes the other, of course).

Elliott's really growing on me, though.
