It takes a lot to surprise a network entertainment president, but CBS' Nina Tassler was flummoxed a moment ago when a reporter -- obviously speaking for some of his more devoted readers -- asked her, "with the perspective of year" later, to comment on the cancellation of "Joan of Arcadia."

"You're kidding, right?" she asked.

Sadly, he was not.

After a moment, Tassler offered this politic sound bite:

"It was a wonderful show and it's nice that it's held in such high regard."
