ANOTHER IRONS IN THE FIRE

Jeremy Irons just proved one of the Golden Globes truisms: An actor with an accent will almost always beat out actors without one with the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Still, it was a tricky year, given that "Heroes' " Masi Oka, a fan favorite, was not only born in Tokyo, but speaks Japanese in his show, while Irons, who was splendid in HBO's "Elizabeth I," was, even in that period drama, merely speaking English.
