One thing that happens when you're in this job for a while is that you see the same people over and over.

Producer Tim Minear, beloved by some critics for his quirky work on shows like "Wonderfalls" and "Firefly," has been at the center of some shows whose cancellation -- most often by Fox -- broke hearts, and he's back again today with a new show called "Drive," which will premiere April 15 and 16, moving into "Prison Break's" slot after that show's season ends.

None of us has yet seen "Drive," a large ensemble piece about an "underground, cross-country road race" -- which, through the magic of green-screen technology, is destined to be largely shot in Santa Clarita, Calif. -- so our questions tend to be pretty basic.

Such as, if the race is a secret, how did all the characters -- one's played by "Firfefly's" Nathan Fillion -- hear about it?

"It's like my last three shows on Fox. People hear rumors," quipped Minear. "And then eventually they either download them or buy the DVD."
