The CW has ordered a full season of "Everybody Hates Chris" for 2007-08, a strong vote of confidence for a show that's taken a hit this season from the move to a new network and new time slot.
No word yet on "Gilmore Girls," or whether stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel could be persuaded to re-up should the CW want them ("We are talking to them," said CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff), or "7th Heaven." Ostroff continues to sound upbeat, but noncommittal, about "Veronica Mars" (which will go off for a bit in March to make way for "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll," then return with new, standalone episodes), and positively bullish about "One Tree Hill," which has apparently improved its ratings performance on the new network.
Asked about rumors that "Tree Hill," should it return, might jump ahead four years in the lives of the characters -- not a bad idea, since they're looking more like high school teachers than high school students -- Ostroff said she'd heard that, but not from the show's producers.
