'SURVIVOR,' NOW AND FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

It's always fun to see how the networks try to steal one another's thunder -- it was raining here this morning, by the way -- by making new programming announcements during someone else's press tour day.

This morning, it was Fox, already on the board with those whopping "Idol" ratings, announcing a new "reality" show, "When Women Rule the World," which some people here are interpreting to mean they're bringing dominatrixes (dominatrices?) to broadcast TV.

This afternoon, it's CBS' turn, with the announcement that they've signed Mark Burnett's "Survivor" up for two more seasons (Nos. 15 and 16).

Either one of these announcements could've waited a day or more -- CBS is here tomorrow, Fox on Saturday -- but what fun would that be?
