The Globes have added a category: animated feature film.
The winner: "Cars."
Having managed not to see any of the nominees, I don't know how this fits into the accent rule, though I could've sworn the clip from "Happy Feet" had one of the penguins speaking French.
Meryl Streep, woman of a thousand accents, manages to snatch a Globe for her role in "The Devil Wears Prada" even though Aussie Toni Collette was in the running (and Beyonce Knowles even has an accent in her name though I have no idea how to reproduce it here).
Anyway, they let her talk and talk, making me wish they weren't such control freaks at the Oscars.
