A GOOD MORNING FOR TINA FEY

If you caught the Emmy nominations announcements on the network morning shows, you might not have given a thought to how early Kyra Sedgwick and Jon Cryer -- not to mention hundreds of people you've never heard of -- had to get up this morning in order to make a West Coast announcement early enough to catch East Coasters before they went to work.

Having risen at 4 to get to the 5:40 a.m. announcement at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, I have given it some thought, because both of them looked wide awake, not to mention made up for TV.

What I'm wondering now is whether Upper Darby's Tina Fey was still out here, or had flown back to New York and was thus able to get a full night's sleep before learning that she'd been nominated for lead actress in a comedy as well as for writing and for the show itself, which she created.

Nice way to wake up, either way.
