You might think someone, somewhere might be offended by HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
But it's just not so, claims Larry David who plays himself (sort of) on the mildly improvised series, which returns for its sixth season Sept. 9.
David says he gets thousands of letters from people who are offended by his previous creation, "Seinfeld" (still pissing people off daily through the magic of reruns), but "On 'Curb,' I get nothing," he said. "Nobody seems to be offended."
Hey, if "Curb" were anywhere but on HBO, which doesn't need -- or ever get -- "Seinfeld"-level numbers, that might be considered bad news.
Because God knows David's doing his very best.

There's not all that much reason for Larry David to get complaints about "Curb Your Enthusiasm," because he gets the complaints ON THE SHOW. His "offensive behavior" (which is usually based on misunderstandings anyway, not on anything worth complaining about) causes him to be punished by other characters on the show, which is the source of most of the comedy.

Good point. But wasn't George -- who's the Larry David character in "Seinfeld" -- punished most of the time, too?
I suspect that "Curb" attracts those who are disposed to get it. "Seinfeld"? Maybe not so much.
Of course, Larry didn't say exactly what it is people complain about.
