What is Citizen Hunter?

We think we have to write like Shakespeare, speak like Martin Luther King Jr., and have the courage of a lion to stand up for things that are right. We have been told for so long that one voice, especially one of "just a citizen", cannot resonate like powerful and special interests can. But that isn't so. We have the power to change our communities, our nation, and our world for the better. Each and every voice is important and we all must stand up and be counted, and we all must stand together. The whole is always greater than the sum of its parts, and together we can accomplish more than we realize.

Hear me discuss the site on PhillyFeed(MP3)

The philosophy behind Citizen Hunter flowed naturally from ideas and values that captured my heart and mind long ago. But the inspiration to sit down and put it together was the countless amazing people I have met on this great adventure.

I have been blessed in life to have had the opportunity to meet many "important" people. Citizen Hunter is a testament to the people who inspire me the most, far more than politicians, celebrities, or media notables. The group I listen to with rapt attention. The group I think of when writing, talking on TV, or giving a speech. My "team of experts" that I turn to, are the great people across this country whose names you may not know. People who have been generous enough to let me into their lives and who care enough about their fellow man to always ask, what can I do to help?

That seems to be the most asked question I get, and doesn't that say something?! All the darkness in the world cannot overshadow that sense of hope and generosity I feel we all have within us.

As you will see on my site, I tried to highlight what we already know to be true - that being a good citizen means voting regularly, staying on top of the issues, and becoming more involved in our communities. But it is much more than that. It also means working to maintain strong families, helping those in need, and spending our humanitarian equity.

Join me as we take the sum of all our parts and walk together to make an even mightier impact on the world around us. Whether activism is a common part of your life or if you have never participated before, I hope Citizen Hunter can be a place where together we can forge a greater citizenry.

Note: this website represents my personal views, and not the official views of the organizations I work with or those of my employers.

How does Flavia Monteiro get any air time speculating on current events. Go help us if anyone ever decided to take her seriously.

    Mr. Gray:

Good Afternoon. As a fellow American and active citizen, I wonder as to why you are attacking Ms. Colgan on her website. She is just encouraging other citizens to stand up and get involved through this site and also on air.

    What is wrong with that?

Enjoyed your work on the Travel Channel. Any books in the future? Thanks Len Weiss Wynnewood Penna

    Yeah, Mr. Gray, you punk.

Flavia is the premier expert on current affairs. It's not like she majored in basket-weaving or religion in college -- LOL!

Clearly, she is a self-made woman who got where she is through her own hard work and innate brilliance, and not because of some nepotistical favor for being from a politically well-connected family.

    hey flavia

Flipping the channels, just saw you on some debate about the "Golden Compass" movie.

Next time you are on TV don't yell so much. I back away from people like that at parties.

    Hi Flavia,
It was a pleasure meeting you, and conducting a survey, the other day , at Starbucks, Beverly Hills.
You are quite impressive!!, and I appreciate the time you took, and also the compliment you gave me, that I 'am good at what I do.."
On that note, I was wondering, if , in your field, especially, at this time of the Primaries, elections, etc, you have a need for a pollster, to go "out there" and seek the opinions of various demographics. I would be well suited for this, and can assist in any political research and endeavors...
PS. I was also, interested to know the exact title , of the book, that woman gave you, as I noticed it, while I was doing the survey.
    all the best, Bonnie

    Flavia,

I haven't seen you lately on any of the cable channels regarding political coverage?

    Dan

    Dear Ms. Colgan,

I saw your clip on Bill O'Reilly on Thursday night and I am beseeching you to accept every invitation that is extended to you by Mr. O'Reilly to appear on his show. You are the personification of an academic liberal that only the finest University can produce. "Regular Folks" don't usually get to see the high-browed intelligensia up close, on O'Reilly they get the opportunity to see first hand how only an academic liberal could listen to the hate filled, racist diatribes that are spewed from the pulpit by the likes of Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan and then hear an academic liberal perform the mental calculus necessary to equivocate that those individuals have a '"good heart" Academia has a very poor track record in denouncing evil. Whether it is Communism, Fascism or Socialism, academics have always provided the intellectual cover to those who oppress the weakest among us.

Ms. Colgan, there is only one standard for good and evil. Jesus didn't have a "Black Standard" or an "Islamic Standard" when hate is proselytized from the pulpit it must be denouced LOUD & CLEAR so that all who hear know that the Catholic Church stands for Freedom & Liberty for ALL!!

The essence of the real prophets was not that they said things that disturbed people; the moral essence of the prophets was their moral clarity. They knew the difference between good and evil. "Woe unto those who call good 'evil' and call evil 'good,'" said the Prophet Isaiah. - Dennis Prager

The Catholic Church has to get out in front of this Fr. Pfleger. He puts the Catholic Church in a very poor light. I wrote to the Catholic League on Monday when I heard of Fr. Pfleger. They are supposed to be defenders of Civil Rights for the Catholic Church but they are silent on the issue of Fr. Pfleger. The Catholic church loses credibility as a defender of Civil Rights when they wont condemn a racist apologizer in their midst.

    Sincerely,

    Paul A. Hargraves

Flavia, just saw you on Larry King Live. You were great. Thanks so much for bringing a clear, thoughtful and strong voice to the debate!

    Flavia,

    Why are you so angry?

    Flavia,

Are you having an affair with Barack Obama? You seem to be so upset about people criticizing him. It's like your an angry White Women with Jungle Fever!!!
