With the holidays upon us let's not forget those who will be without their loved ones overseas. The U.S. Postal Service says they will process over 20 million pounds of mail for our men in women in uniform serving our nation. That stat makes me very happy: So many of you are probably already planning to send a care package - just wanted to remind you of some of the particulars.
If you want your package to arrive by Christmas: (jump to the list)
- Use the Full name (no nicknames) of the service member and include the unit and the APO/FPO (Air/Army Post Office) address with that long nine-digit zip code.
- Only print on the side of the package - make sure to put your return address - sometimes you can slip through domestically (I forget a lot, but not this time).
- Make it a touch box with room for bubble wrap to protect the contents - it is going through a lot to get there.
- Pack batteries separate, as they sometimes start working while en route by accident and will arrive with no juice left - quite a bummer!
- Put the service member's name inside the box as well along with a description of the contents.

Us troops appreciate Americans who "support the troops" but keep in mind we are not a bunch a draftees who do not want a war and are in need of support because we do not want to be here. I salute any young man that has joined or re-joined the Army and Marines to fight The War On Terror. So all America should be saying is we support you because we are always going to be deployed one way or the other because we are a Christian Nation and we support Israel. And yes I love my gas guzzling truck and I will die for Oil and I refuse to drive a GEO Metro, that is why God invented motorcycles.
Merry Christmas!
