As we begin to find out how the Clintons racked up all that dough they made, the most recent revelation of former president Bill Clinton's speaking engagements in support of trade deals his wife claims to adamantly oppose raises a lot of concerns, many of which I discuss in my column today.
On the personal side, I have always been concerned about the prospect of a dual presidency. This recent incident is only one in an increasingly evolving pattern. George Washington was wise for many reasons. Setting a precedent for a president to only serve two terms was just one of his great ideas. After another great president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, decided to buck the trend, we wisely turned precedent to law by adding an amendment to the constitution. I never fell for the Hillary Clinton coronation last year when every worthless pundit (sorry to be redundant!) thought she had it sewed up.
I also feel the Clintons have served two terms - after all, Hillary takes credit on a daily basis for her role. Last I checked, America is not a monarchy.
UPDATE: My buddy Eric Schmeltzer has an interesting take on this.

Let me guess. You're an Obama supporter, right?
What exactly is it that bothers you about the job Bill Clinton did and the shape the country was in while he was in office? Every presidency is dual in nature. Do you not believe that spouses, even in the White House, discuss events and seek advice? Please show me where HRC said that she was entitled to or was coronated to the presidency. So, your going to blame her for what some other genius wrote? Are you one of those clairvoyant bloggers who can tell what HRC might, could, maybe, possibly be thinking? Pls don't show me something by another blog hack such as your self. Pure Obamaniac drivel with no substantiated fact based reality.

Wierd because I thought the article had lots of facts in it. I guess if they don't agree with you they are not facts.

First,it is utterly sexist to blur Hillary with her husband. She has her own life, opinions, qualifications, and experience. No one in NY thought they were getting "dual" senators. Obamaniac drivel or withered Republican talking points -- who can tell the difference anymore?

"a man whose human and labor rights record is so odious".....
Gee, what a news flash...seems to me we as a country do business with many of these guys every day. Always have, always will. Especially if they have something we need.
Just keep chanting....change, hope, change, hope, until your candidate loses in November.
Posted by: James A. on April 11, 2008 12:14
Oh those Clintons, they are a laugh a minute. By the way Hillary herself has tried to "blur" her experience records based on the fact that she is married to Bill!!! She plays the gender card at every convenient step whether its getting weepy or complaining about the guys. Frankly I think she's a bigger bully than most I've seen in public life. But, we know she'll do whatever it takes. Ho-hum. One day she's Rambo, the next she's Rocky; one minute she's cackling, the next she's screeching at Sen. Obama; one day she'll be alert at 3 a.m. the next were told her lapses and embellishments are due to sleep deprivation???? The contradictions in her stories are all over the YouTube. The Republicans will have a field day with them if she's the Democratic nominee.
and of course no one thought they were getting "dual" senators and no one cared anyway.

Come on America, wise up already. Now that we know about all the money Bill/Hillary has earned from different sources, doesn't that tell you that Bill Clinton has already sold out the white house. Why do you think he is so adamant about getting Hillary back in? He's promised a lot of people favors once they return to the white house. We only know about the Columbians and now the Canadians. Who else is waiting in the wings to cash in on a Hillary presidency. The Clintons care only about themselves. They will get back in the white house with more scandals than a hustler magazine. Do we really want to go through all the scandalous behavior of Bill Clinton? And for Governor Edward G. Rendell, it is rumored that if Hillary gets back in the White house, she will appoint Midge Rendell, who is now a Eastern District Judge, to a spot on the Supreme Court. Obama is right when he says that we need to change the way in which we operate our goverment. To have Hillary Clinton back in the white house would be giving approval to more shakey deals that Bill Clinton has made and promised. Wake up America. We won't get another chance like this with a person like Obama for another 40 years. Think about your children and grandchildren. Don't you want them to grow up in a world that is better than the one we had? Keep the Clintons out of the white house. Not this time!

At least the Clintons paid for their own home. Obama let Rezko pay $1.6 million for his home.
No telling how much money Obama has gotten from Rezko.

Far be it from me to remotely back up anything done by the former president, but your disdain for Uribe is misguided, at best.
I suspect most Democrats (including yourself) don't like him because he has the audacity to be to the right of Marx.
Anyway, you mention that he has an "odious" labor rights record, that's funny because as far as I can tell the most important "right" is that of being able to keep breathing. And, since Uribe has been president and he has cracked down on terrorists, the killings and kidnappings have gone down substantially. And, even more substantial is that the number of killings and kidnappings of labor leaders and union members have gone down even more. How's that for "odious"?
As for his "human rights" record, I guess killing terrorists that have been terrorizing your country for decades is "odious" as well.
I guess Hugo Chavez is more your speed, huh.
I'm always ready to give you the benefit of the doubt because you often seem so reasonable...until you come out and spout Howard Dean nonsense like this.

Hillary and Bill file a joint tax return, Right? So the $800,000 Bill received is also Hillary's. Sweet deal, one opposes and the other bags the money.

Why I will not vote for Obama:
1. Are we likely to get GOOD CHANGES in Energy policy from an Obama administration?
Answer: NO. Why Not?
Because: Obama voted FOR the Cheney Energy Bill (H.R. 6) in 2005.
(which enabled the nuke industry to begin planning to build 29 new nukes (one of them in Pennsylvania)
- after 30 years of no new nukes being built because the banks wouldn't loan the money - too risky.
The Cheney Energy Bill solved that problem for the nuke industry by guaranteeing taxpayer payback of any of the nuke loans that default ... (with the risk of default rated by the Congressional Budget Office at 50% or greater).
Because: Obama has been IN with the nuke industry for decades. Excelon Corp. of Illinois is the largest nuke operator on earth - ( they own the nuclear power plants in Illinois and they own Con-Ed in NY state). Excelon has been one of Obama's largest contributors since his earliest days in politics.
Because: Obama would not even be IN the race for president IF he was not HEAVILY SUPPORTED by the nuke industry. GE (2nd largest corporation on the planet) & Westinghouse are planning to build many of those nukes.
GE owns NBC & MSNBC. Westinghouse owns CBS. That's the reason "the Mainstreams Media" are PUSHING Obama for President/ slamming & smearing the Clintons. ABSENT BILLIONS of dollars worth of FREE Pro-Obama Advertising/Propaganda provided by NBC/MSNBC/and CBS Obama would not have gotten past the New Hampshire primary.
2. Are we likely to get GOOD CHANGES in the ECONOMY?
Answer: It doesn't look good. Obama's financial advisors include the followng people:
JEFFREY LIEBMAN: SOCIAL SECURITY: In a 2005 policy paper Liebman advocated a mix of benefit cuts, tax increases and mandatory personal accounts.
DAVID CUTLER: HEALTHCARE: He Says High Health Care Costs are Good.
AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: RICH GETTING RICHER, EVERYBODY ELSE GETTING POORER:
The stagnation of middle- and working-class incomes, and the anxiety this has generated, is, he says, a most pressing problem, but policymakers must be mindful about trying to address its root cause, which Goolsbee says is "radically increased returns to skill." ( i.e. College degrees are paying off more & more --- which is true, BUT Certainly DOES NOT account for the rise of the super rich, nor the increasing poverty of everyone else.)
(Evidently, Goolsbee's not old enough to remember the beginning of that Income Inequality, or to recognize THE CAUSE. It began in 1981. THE CAUSE of it was and is that Reagan cut the top tax rate DOWN from 70% to the low 30% s, AND Corporations all over America BEGAN instituting "THE TWO-TIER WAGE STRUCTURE'. i.e. Pay the people at the top a LOT MORE, Pay Everybody Else a LOT LESS. (If you searched old newspaper archives from the early 1980s you would find newspaper articles about the sudden appearance of the Two-Tier Wage Structure.)
3. Are we likely to get GOOD CHANGES in Foreign Policy?
Answer: Not Likely.
Among a dozen or so Foreign Policy Advisors the most "senior" advisor is:
Zbigniew Brzezinski. Former National Security Advisor to President Carter. Using the CIA & Billions of dollars, he ginned up a War in Afghanistan .... seeking as he said to "give the Soviet Union its own Vietnam.".
He Created the Taliban and Al Queda/ JIHAD/madrassa brainwashing schools for that purpose. Supported the dictator Pol Pol who massacred millions of Cambodian villagers. When asked, if in hindsight, considering that Al Queda eventually attacked America, and Pol Pot slaughtered millions - IF he would change anything he had done .... Zbig answered NO, he was satisfied with the results.
Electing Obama President is not likely to reassure the rest of the world that the U.S. is going to cease having an insane foreign policy; is likely to put Russia on an even more nervous hair trigger than they are now.
The major problem with Obama and his advisiors is they are ACADEMICS who have lived the life of privilege out of touch with the real world --- Better educated and smarter than Bush's gang --- they are still likely to do just as badly at running the government --- for the same reason: OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY ... i.e. insane....people doing insane things.
4. Are we likely to get GOOD CHANGES in: appointing competent qualified people to run the government; instead of cronyism, or good changes that get rid of fraud, payoffs, and corruption in government?
Answer: No.
Because: Obama's friend Rezko was part and parcel of the mafia connected, corrupt, Daley Chicago political machine. Rezko was Obama's chief fundraiser from the beginning of his career in Illinois politics to his election to the U.S. Senate. There is very little coverage of the Obama Rezko/Daley corruption connections on National TV, but the local Chicago papers have a lot of info going back several years ... & it don't look good for Obama. He got IN with the Daley machine when his wife worked as an assistant to one of Daley's higher ups; Obama looks to be part and parcel of the same corrupt Daley political machine as his friend Rezko.
Some of the above is speculation based on facts.. What I KNOW Obama HAS ALREADY DONE makes all the above doubts and questions irrelevant in answering the question:
Is Obama qualified to be, or likely to be, a GOOD President?
Answer: NO. He has already done something so unconscionable, so dirty, so dangerous that no sane American would even consider voting for him. HE played the race card.
Those accusations of racism against the Clintons did not come from any public "Outcry" on the part of black people all over the country - those accusations of racism came solely and directly from the Obama Campaign. Obama was caught red-handed pushing those accusations to the press - in a 4-page Internal Campaign Memo - Listing those accusations & directing them to the press. The Huffington Post obtained a copy & published it on the web.
Shortly thereafter, during one of the debates, Tim Russert (MSNBC) ..... while rustling a copy of the 4-page Memo in his hand .... asked Obama .... your campaign has been pushing accusations of racism to the press (rustles pages) .... in a 4-page campaign memo .... what do you have to say about that?
Obama mumbled a few sentences ....( people in both campaigns get carried away and say things they shouldn't have said ... blah..blah) .... and .... then MSNBC/ the mainstream media .... NEVER MENTIONED IT AGAIN!.
Instead, MSNBC/NBC/CBS and all the rest of the mainstream CORPORATE-CONTROLLED media just went right on endlessly PUSHING the SAME totally ridiculous false accusations of "racism".
Obama made those accusations of racism .... in order to win the South Carolina primary. Obama has continued to make accusations of racism ... every time .... he falls behind in the polls. The question is: What USE of RACISM / inter-racial strife would he NOT stoop to IF elected President.
Which brings us to the Question: Is it likely Obama will TRANSCEND race... .Get Past the Politics of DIVISION;.. .....Unite this Country?
Given the DIVISION he has already created by making false accusations of racism - the answer is a resounding:
HELL NO!
Obama is the CORPORATE-CONTROLLED candidate being PUSHED by the CORPORATE-CONTROLLED Media.
Same Media that sold TOO MANY AMERICANS on Bush/Cheney. Same Media that SOLD U.S. a War.

Why I will Vote for Hillary Clinton:
1. ENERGY: We know we need to change to Cheaper, Cleaner, DE-Centralized/NOT Monopoly controlled Energy.
Clinton states that her Energy Plan does not include nuclear; nuclear can be considered ... in the future .... IF and when they find a way to MAKE IT CHEAPER and Find a way to safely dispose of nuclear waste.
(Obama and McCain have said they are Pro-Nuclear).
2. ECONOMY: The Clintons are the only candidates with ANY experience in TURNING an ECONOMY around before it slides into economic meltdown .... engendering unprecedented economic growth .... during the 1990's ...following Reagan/Bush 1's wholesale looting of the majority of the public and the public treasury.
3. FOREIGN POLICY: Returning the Clintons to the White House will Return the Rest of The World's Governments and Peoples to the SAME unprecedented High Level of Goodwill, RESPECT, and TRUST for the U.S. Government as they had during Bill Clinton's administration.
4. COMPETENT QUALIFED PEOPLE RUNNING THE GOVERNMENT:
Same as during Bill Clinton's administration.
5. REAL PUBLIC SERVANTS instead of cronyism, payoffs, corruption in Government.
The Clinton administration was investigated far more than any other entity in the history of the world.
Investigated by people who hated them AND desperately wanted to find a way to find them guilty of payoffs, corruption, SOMETHING, anything ..... Following 8 years and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of investigations the Clintons were not found guilty of ANY KIND of political corruption --- (which practically makes them eligible for political Sainthood).
As best I can see the Clintons are the candidates being backed by the GOOD wealthy people. Bill Clinton has spent the past eight years .... promoting and expanding CHARITY - particularly among the rich.
When Clinton was president what kind of legislation did he manage to get passed- despite a Republican Controlled Congress?
Two Examples: The Family and Medical Leave Act .... for the benefit of ordinary American working class people, and the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts. (The two most essential elements for life on this planet.)
Put the Clintons back in the White House WITH a Democrat-Controlled Congress AND the REAL CHANGES We the People Need CAN get made.

OBAMA WILL NEVER GET MY VOTE!!!
Hypnotized by Obama
You may be hypnotized by Obama’s speech if you are considering voting for President a person who:
- Has no diplomatic experience.
- Has no economic experience.
- Has no business experience.
- Has no foreign policy experience.
- Has no track record of success.
- He is an unknown who came out of nowhere.
- He has never had any serious responsibility in economics nor world affairs.
- Most people cannot name a single accomplishment he made.
- Wants to be President, but has only spent three years in the senate (half his first term).
- Did not even vote “yes” or “no” on issues as an Illinois senator, Often just voted “present.”
- Has never run a town, city, or state.
- Targets young voters who do not understand the importance and value of experience.
- Speaks like a preacher.
- Speaks differently to black than to white audiences.
- Exudes anger in tone, face, and attitude.
- Facing off against other senators and even former presidents, seems annoyed, not honored.
- Makes no specific statements about his plans or policies.
- Does not speak up about his native Kenya during a genocide there.
- Has a Muslim background but wants to avoid a debate about the meaning, effect, and implications to the world of a President of the United States with Muslim heritage.
- Is racing for the Presidency without even having made a contribution as a senator.
- Has purposely refused to place his hand on his heart during the American national anthem
- Says U.S. troops in Afghanistan are "just air-raiding villages and killing civilians."
And you need to wake up from the trance his voice is putting you into.
Let us assume that Obama wins the presidential election. Will Obama be willing to take the oath of office? Please do not forget that Obama has refused to wear an American flag pin on his lapel. Also, while among a group of people pledging allegiance to our flag, he refused to join in with them. He just stood there with his hands by his side and his mouth silent. How would you feel if he refused to raise his right hand to be sworn into office?
Keep listening to him...He can really work a crowd but he will not do anything for anybody
LISTEN to the speeches he doesn't say anything...Just the same stuff over & over...from city to city...

Obama is the Sanjiah of Politics.
A Media creation who looks pretty good, sounds pretty good, but has no real SUBSTANCE.

Let me start off by stating I have family
living in Colombia and I travel to Colombia every year
for a month. My brother in law works in intelligence
in Colombia. I read the news everyday about Colombia
and consider myself very knowledgeable. First off Al
Gore stiffed President Uribe because of the FTA. This
was the start of the Democrat act to portray Colombia
as a hostile nation. Unions are pressuring Democrats
so Al Gore used human rights as his excuse. It's a
shame Democrats could stoop this low to President
Uribe. President Uribe has an approval rating close to
70% and it has been this high for 6 years. For all
President Uribe has accomplished in Colombia he should
have won a Nobel Peace Prize.
Here are the facts under President Uribe:
Homicides of labor unionists dropped from
approximately 200 in 2001 to fewer than 40 in 2007,
according to the Colombia Ministry of Social
Production and National Union School. In response to
concerns over attacks on trade unionists, President
Uribe established an independent prosecutors unit and
created a special program to protect labor activists.
Today, approximately 1,950 trade unionists are
receiving protection under the Colombian Ministry of
Interior and Justice's protection program.
Under the leadership of President Uribe, Colombia has
been a strong and capable partner in fighting drugs,
crime, and terror. According to the Colombian Ministry
of Defense, since 2002, kidnappings have dropped 83
percent, terrorist attacks have dropped 76 percent,
and murders have dropped by 40 percent.
Could you imagine if a Democrat Mayor in Philadelphia
could reduce crime like Uribe has!!
I remember back in 2001 when I traveled to Colombia I
had to fly by airplane between the major cities
because it was dangerous. Now I can make the trip by
car because it's safe. Colombia's economy is booming
right now mainly because it's safe. The terrorist
(FARC) do not have any support in Colombia. Colombia
is a nation of 45 million people and FARC has less
than 20,000 members which includes a high percentage
of minors forced into action. If you do the math FARC
represents .000444% yet the liberal media will call
this a civil war. How ? Today FARC's business is drug
trafficking, murder and kidnapping. BTW, The FARC and
Hugo Chavez strongly agree with the Democrats about
the Free Trade Agreement. Why ?
I wish Democrats would tell the real reason they
oppose FTA Colombia. Why Democrats oppose the FTA is
mind boggling. Right now close to 90% of Colombian
products enter the United States duty free. The
remaining 10% have tariffs up to 8%. On the other hand
80% of American products entering Colombia face a 35%
tax. If you traveled to Colombia and shopped you would
be shocked at the prices. American technology is
priced through the roof because of the high tariffs.
When I travel to Colombia I stock up on goods for my
family because of the prices. This summer when my
family visited the United States they had to ship
stuff back UPS because they bought so much stuff. In
fact as we speak I have 3 large boxes of goods I'm
shipping back to Colombia because of the prices. My
family is lucky because they have Visa's to enter the
United States and have family like me who will ship
goods back to them. The majority of Colombians aren't
as lucky. When I email Democrat congressmen about FTA
they claim it hurts the poor in Colombia. How ? The
rich are the people who can still buy the goods at low
prices. Nancy Polosi is cancelling voting on Colombia
because she realizes what would happen if a vote was
taken. Democrats are portraying Colombia like it's
2001, not 2008. Colombia is America's #1 ally in South
America and deserve the FTA for all the progress they
have made. Bill Clinton was President during the
violent days of Colombia and he realizes all the
progress Colombia has made. Democrats need all the
union support and are using Colombia as the scapegoat.
Below I will paste an article that appeared in the
Wall Street Journal and it talks about how unions
would benefit. Also American automakers would benefit
too. My family drives Chevrolet and Jeep and I can't
believe how much more they pay in Colombia.

Hillary Clinton says her economic policies will restore the economic policies of her husband’s administration. However both Hillary and her husband failed demonstrate any economic wisdom or foresight as Alan Greenspan warned of irrational exuberance while the sub prime housing loans and dot com investment bubbles were created and pandered during her husband’s administration and both supported China's entry into the World Trade Organization without any conditions such as protecting the environment or labor and property rights to levels that are comparable to western standards.
The U.S. government surplus (generated by taxes raised from the housing and investment bubbles) evaporated once the housing and investment bubbles burst.
Furthermore, China today is not only a leading contributor to environmental pollution and global warming (thank you very much Mr. Nobel Laureate, Al Gore), it's also pushing up oil and other commodity prices, taking our jobs and stealing our intellectual property.
Like the Roaring Twenties decade that preceded the Great Depression, the Irrational Nineties that preceded our current decade were both golden ages for technology, scandal-plagued politicians, corporate greed, and unrestrained personal debt and speculation.
As the global economy teeters on the brink of economic meltdown not unlike the Great Depression, America doesn’t need finger pointing and fear mongering, America needs a president whose economic policies are based on confidence, unity and reason. America needs Barack Obama.
When political and military judgment mattered most to U.S. military personnel and the American people, John McCain and Hillary Clinton failed as U.S. Senators to demonstrate any commander-in-chief qualities when without competent questioning, they both accepted the faulty intelligence used to justify the Iraq war and misjudged the Bush administration's competencies to lead the war.
Barack Obama on the other hand demonstrated his superior judgment and commander-in-chief qualities when he took an unpopular position and cautioned that without clear rationale an invasion of Iraq would encourage the worst impulses of the Arab world and strengthen Al Qaeda's recruitment.
Now, John McCain advocates maintaining U.S. troops in Iraq indefinitely which does little to incentivize the Iraqi government to deliver the political reforms needed to promote civil unity whereas Barack Obama's threat to withdraw U.S. troops does more to incentivize the Iraqi government to deliver the necessary reforms.
As the threat of global terrorism persists, neither John McCain or Hillary Clinton have demonstrated any understanding of the complexities of building and maintaining global alliances to confront this common enemy. America needs a president with demonstrated commander in chief qualities, leadership and judgment. America needs Barack Obama.
If experience, wisdom and judgment may be relied upon to judge a presidential candidate's abilities to solve problems, then let's look at the records of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
2007 - While Barack Obama promoted a restoration of balance between work and wealth and criticized special interests for distorting U.S. tax codes, Hillary Clinton and her husband liquidated their blind trust of the nearly $50 million amassed during their years in public office.
2002 - While Barack cautioned that without clear rationale an invasion of Iraq would encourage the worst impulses of the Arab world and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Qaeda, Hillary told Larry King she didn't regret her vote on the Iraq war resolution because like the Bush administration, the Clinton administration viewed Saddam Hussein as a threat to the international community.
1999 - While Barack secured bipartisan support for health-care reform and passage of low-income tax credits and child care subsidies in the Illinois legislature, Hillary supported her husband's Iraq "regime change" policy in order to divert public attention from the president's marital, legal and ethical infidelities.
1989 - While Barack Obama served as the Harvard Law Review's first black president, Hillary Clinton then wife of the Arkansas governor received payments from a law firm that was doing the state's business and received board of director payments from Wal-Mart where she remained silent about Wal-Mart's anti-labor union practices.
1979 - While Barack Obama was actively involved in the South African divestment movement to end apartheid, Hillary reaped profits of almost 10,000% in the futures markets and left taxpayers with her real-estate losses in the Savings & Loan bailout.
The Clintons would have us believe that Hillary and Bill have been thoroughly vetted. If that were true, then why don't we have answers for:
FOREIGN: How will Hillary know whether Bill's advice serves U.S. interests or the interests of his Russian, Chinese, Indian, Kazakhstan, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman or Brunei clients?
MONEY: Do the Clinton Foundation, Clinton Library, Clinton campaign and Clintons tax records show a proper accounting for the sources and uses of funds?
PARDONS: Will Hillary "reject" contributions or compensation from persons she pardons unlike her husband Bill who accepted contributions from Marc Rich, partner of Viktor Bout (the merchant of death), and her brother Hugh Rodham who accepted compensation from drug lords who were pardoned by Bill?
For too long fear, division and rancor as instruments to maintain power and position in Washington.
Why are the Clintons’ traditional adversaries Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity now embracing Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Party’s nominee? Because both the Clintons and John McCain are willing sparring partners in the fear mongering arena, whereas Barack Obama’s means of governing through confidence, unity and reason threatens the wealth, power and position of these fear mongers.
It's refreshingly nice to see the better angels of America's character prevailing as voters reject the racial, religious and ethnic slurs being spewed by the divisive surrogates of the Clintons, Limbaugh and Hannity.
Voters in Pennsylvania now have an opportunity to change the direction of America’s policies, economy and foreign relations for the better by voting for Barack Obama and rejecting the fear mongers.
As a Republican-leaning independent, I will vote for the Democratic nominee if it is Barack Obama but I will not vote for the Party's nominee if Hillary Clinton is on the ticket. America needs Barack Obama.

Fat Cats are Obama Grass Roots!
Washington Post says:
Small givers, he said at a fundraiser this week, "will have as much access and influence over the course and direction of our campaign that has traditionally been reserved for the wealthy and the powerful."
But those with wealth and power also have played a critical role in creating Obama's record-breaking fundraising machine, and their generosity has earned them a prominent voice in shaping his campaign. Seventy-nine "bundlers," five of them billionaires, have tapped their personal networks to raise at least $200,000 each. They have helped the campaign recruit more than 27,000 donors to write checks for $2,300, the maximum allowed. Donors who have given more than $200 account for about half of Obama's total haul, which stands at nearly $240 million.

McCain is a nice guy, like Bush, but would be a disaster for this country, he could be even worse than Bush in decision making, if that was possible, even though McCain has, it seems, much more integrity and courage than Bush, though he's flip flopping alot recently to pander to the Republican base (neocons, religious fanatics, big oil and banks), on torture, immigration, corporate regulation, etc...so electing McCain is out of the question...that leaves Hillary and Obama.
I like Hillary, but she said nothing when her hubby starved to death over half a million Iraqi children (under 12 years of age) with the sanctions and infrastructure bombings, furthermore she trusted Bush and voted for the invasion of Iraq, which hoped was about Saddam but really was about oil (how naive)...so can she be trusted? She seems like she wants to do the right thing but sometimes the road to evil is laid with good intentions. This is the Clintons good intentions but no wisdom or understanding no real politik...
That leaves Obama...everything I've seen so far shows he's extremely smart and better yet wise. He seems like another Bobby Kennedy type...I just hope "they" don't shoot him like they did JFK, Bobby and MLK. He could make this country great again, make us proud to be American again...right now thanks to Bush we are the shame of the World, we have no honor as a country...even China with its slave labor and oppression of Tibet takes a back seat to our war crimes and crimes against humanity...America is better than this, all we need to do is boot all the Republicans out of Congress...those who critisize Obama for being Muslim or inexperienced or whatever are generally uneducated, ignorant and brainwashed they haven't check out his background...this guy is a God send to America...I just hope the American people don't screw this up again otherwise we will really deserve the economic and moral hell we will certainly incur...it took the Germans 3 decades to overcome their shame of Hitler and Nazism...with Obama we can wipe the shame of Bush away quickly..with McCain it could get worse...with Hillary who knows but some how I think she'll screw things up.

Another editorial today in a major newspaper.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/editorial/5694587.html
Aren't you on the editorial board of the Philadelphia
Daily News. They are hundreds editorials supporting
the FTA between Colombia and United States just in the
last few days. I haven't read one editorial opposing
the deal. Why doesn't your newspaper be the first
newspaper to do an editorial opposing free trade with
Colombia? Maybe you can generalize Colombia like
Democrat politicians and simply make up lies about
Colombia. Why not ? Al Gore did it just last spring to
President Uribe. Nancy Pelosi traveled to Syria with
a happy face to talk to their President because she
believes in dialog yet she stiffed President Uribe
last spring when he traveled to Washington DC. Imagine
she traveled to Syria to talk to this nut and a freely
elected poplar President ( 70% approval rating ) from
United States #1 ally in South American travels to
Washington DC and can't even say hello to her. How
much influence do the unions have on the democrat
party ? I would bet union officials do not realize 90%
of Colombian goods enter the United States duty free
and the remaining 10% only have a duty as high as 8%.
To me the FTA is important to the American economy. I
know first hand by traveling to Colombia the cost of American goods. Maybe your newspaper can come up with reasons on why a FTA with Colombia would tear apart America. Please do not talk about human rights abuse and etc like Al Gore and the rest because that's simply a lie.

Unify THIS.
Obama has the exact same elitist sneery view of hard-working people that we see portrayed by the so-called "progressive" upper-class out-of-touch wing of the democratic party. To him we're the rednecks and rubes of Hollywood movies. He says we stupidly "cling" to our religion and guns, and our bigotry and xenophobia.
PA is getting a good close look at the mystery man, and we don't like what we see.

I believe in the right to bear arms but only in response to a tyrannical government, or legitimate hunting for food like in the film "Into the Wild"...hunting for pleasure like Cheney does is perverted, its sick....religious fanatics, bigots, xenophobes have no place in America or anywhere in the World for that matter, but especially America...Obama brings out the best in America the Nobel in America...this is why people like you hate him because you hate yourselves and you want the whole world to suffer cause you suffer, Obama will end the torture, concentration camps and war crimes against the Iraqi people, (over a third children) in our American name, I'm tired of having to hold my head down in shame because of Bush and people like you who voted for him. Get out of America you don't belong here, America is for freedom fighters not bigots, go to a place where bigotry and xenophobia is accepted go to Saudi Arabia go work for Halliburton in Dubai. I hope the people of PA like you are in the minority...we'll soon see.

Brian, You hit the nail on the head with Colombia. How Democrats are against a free tade agreement with Colombia is amazing. 90% of Colombians goods enter the United States duty free. The remaining 10% is taxed up to 8%. Meanwhile the majority of American goods exported to Colombia are taxed at 35%. Are you kidding me that the Democrats oppose this plan!! The human right talk is just a bunch of bullshlt to satisfy the unions. Are unions afraid of more work because of free trade ?

Industry PACs may not give directly to his campaign, but employees of industries may do so, and many of his contributors have come from executives and their spouses. For example, Mr. Obama leads all candidates in donations from the pharmaceutical industry and commercial banks, among other industries. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks fundraising in elections, Mr. Obama has received $528,765 from people in the pharmaceutical industry and $1,380,108 from commercial banks. He comes in second to Mrs. Clinton in donations from lawyers with $13,690,170, just over a million shy of her total.
There is in fact a real parallel financing system already in place and ready to support Mr. Obama. It's called George Soros and so-called 527 groups such as the Democrat-supporting Fund for America or the newly named Progressive Media USA. Progressive Media recently announced plans for a $40 million, four-month campaign against Mr. McCain, and that's only one group in the game.
Mr. Obama once said he would "aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election." Mr. McCain has already taken steps toward public financing in the general election. So now Mr. Obama wants to preserve his reputation as a reformer while exploiting his new financial advantage. We are all beginning to learn how expansive the meaning of "change" is.

I live in California, I just wanted to see how many of you people are buying the swill Billary is selling and most of you are. They count on people like some of these posts so that they can make money hand over fist. And if you're not Bitter, you mus be unconscious or dead. Wake up and stop being a baby. SHe's giving you the shaft, just like in Ohio.

And I live in rural New Mexico...
please don't make the mistake I did .
I voted for Hillary here, but wish I could take that vote back...
My son is an intern for a Senator in Washington..( not Clinton or Obama), and I have learned so much more through him.
Obama is a much better liked, more honest and genuine person...with a lot of support from his fellow Senators.
The Clintons are like a mafia...feared, but not well liked.
Be very careful who you vote for.

Like you, I’ve tried to figure out the Clintons’ thought processes on the Columbia trade pact, but I came up with a much darker motive. I voted for Hillary Clinton on Super Tuesday, and both times for Bill when he ran, so this is not easy for me to suggest.
Remember how the Abramoff Crime Syndicate worked both sides of one Native American casino? First they shut it down on behalf of a competitor, and then they solicited obscene amounts of money for a vain effort to get it re-opened.
Could the Clintons be working both sides of Columbia?

I hate how fake this candidate is. I was a fan of her when she was first lady and I am happy that she got to be a senator but for real---she needs to quit! Obama '08!!!

Yes, Obama told the truth....about folks being bitter.
But, what he did was very similar .... to a quote I read long ago.
Quote: "A man who would not lie to a woman....has no consideration for her feelings."
Conclusion: Unlike Obama, Hillary knows you got to lie to people. Most can't handle the truth.
Posted by: SonnyJames on April 13, 2008 15:44
Hillary lies to us, because she's trying to protect us from ourselves, she has good intentions perhaps, but if America is going to be a government of the people, by the people, for the people...well our leaders have to take the risk and trust the people, that is tell us the truth even if it hurts...Obama seems to be this kind of leader, I haven't seen a leader like this since Kennedy, both Bobby and Jack, and they're dead??? Obama is putting the responsibility back on our shoulders and I like it that way, because frankly America works better when our leaders pay attention to the people. The problem is we the people need to take that responsibilty seriously and that starts with education and a truly free press not the Orwellian slop we now get on FOX and CNN...we need more programs like Democracy Now! We need to revamp the FCC, fire the cronies.

was raised in a small town in Indiana, I lived in Marion, IN for 24 years. I last worked at General Tire Rubber Plant when I wasn't layed off and was a member of URW I left in 1984. Well, I'm here to tell you, I was bitter then, and I left and I'm bitter now when I go back home and see the people that I grew up with and family members suffering because almost all of the jobs have gone they can't afford home improvement, new homes, college, and for some food it is true what Obama has said and people have not only turned to guns, but churches for comfort (which is a good start ) they have also turned to drugs and even the lottery. It really hurts me and angers me to see so many people messed up, bitter and angry in Marion, Muncie, Kokomo, FT Wayne, Anderson and so on, it seems nobody gives a care. So, what Mr Obama has done is opened up a can of wounds, that Hillary
had hoped to keep closed she doesn't want anyone to think about her charity givings to herself, the Clinton foundation, The Clinton Library and the Charities of her elitist friends. She is trying to distract from her Columbian dealings which she shares with Bill. Bottom line is Hillary does not care about you, she just wants your vote so that she and Bill can live a lavish life in the whitehouse while you continue to suffer. Barack came into Politics by the way of caring for the good of all the people and he still does. As for J. McCain he doesn't even count and is a waist of my words he shadows G. Bush JR. God Bless You Obama for the good of all people.

Hillary gets our vote.
obama SHOULD step down, he is DIVIDING our country and our party. He is talking about working class people in PA and midwest towns when he is in front of the rich, then in front of us in the midwest, he is talking about "the rich white man", and you know what he has been saying in Rev. Wrights church, I guarantee you he is not keeping his mouth shut at his anti-white church.
He started dividing our country 20 years ago by giving Rev. Wright donations on a regular basis.
I see that the good Rev. is still playing an ACTIVE roll in the church... why is obama still going to keep sending them his money for tithe?
And the replacement pastor has said that he is going to carry on with the same as Rev. Wright?
Does this send any red flags to ANYONE??? American people are NOT going to vote for an ANTI AMERICAN, ANTI WHITE, ANTI ITALIAN, ANTI JEW President!! Especially over McCain. Hillary has got the best chance to beat McCain.

Obama lacks the common sense to leave an anti-American church (after 20 years!).
And even if he does believe what Wright had to say, that still makes it a boneheaded move to be running for President.
Obama lacks foresight. He lacks temperance. He lacks experience.
Obama lies - caught in Rezko corruption

Why I support Barack Obama:
In the History of a Nation there comes a time, rarely but surely, when the soul
of the Nation, “The Voice of its People” long ignored, finds an utterance like
never before, in a leader like no other. A tryst with destiny, perhaps in the
making for ages, uplifts the spirit of the Nation for generations to come and
history is made. I sincerely believe that Barack Obama is that leader now.
This campaign for the presidency is unparalleled in history. Our need for an
honest, fresh-thinking leader could not be more urgent. Americans are hungry for
change and
Barack Obama will bring that change when he is elected.
