I strive to be a "creative activist" every day. This passion remains the heart and soul of this blog as well as the numerous projects and groups I am involved with. The Creative Visions Foundation (CVF) supports and nurtures my fellow creative activists- people who use media, the arts, and technology to inform, inspire, and empower others to create positive action and transform the world around us.
They are facing the challenge of matching a grant by an anonymous donor and fan. They must raise $100,000 by June 10th. If successful, the donor has agreed to match $1 for every $2 raised. For more information on how to become a creative activist too pleasevisit their Web site.

Hi Flavia. I have enjoyed your insight and punditry for some time.
I have also served Governor Rendell in the past -- dating back to his Mayoral
days.
I was wondering if you would consider being my Facebook Friend.
Have a great weekend!

n ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently at the UN and made the world community smile.
A representative from Israel began:'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Moses. When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath!'
He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water.
When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Palestinian had stolen them.'
The Palestinian representative jumped up furiously and shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Palestinians weren't there then.'
The Israeli representative smiled and said 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech.'

I detect a soul full of passion, tolerance, and courage… firm in resolve, yet humble in spirit. There is a captivating glow about you that draws many admires. Your strength and compassion – as evident in your writings, words, and actions – will leave a hopeful trail in your wake.
At the formidable age of 20 while attending college, my perspective on life changed in the Iraqi desert when I served in the first Gulf War. I came to peace with the possibility of not returning home… and resolved to never lose that sense of purpose and wonder if I survived. Oh, how wonderful to be with family again!
When to rhythm of life moves too fast, I pause to enjoy the simple pleasures that faithfully beckon… the cool breeze just before a summer rain; the tranquility of an ocean sunset; a friend's embrace; a child’s laughter; a good movie with a warm blanket; a night filled with a billion stars; the extended dream when you wake up too early and fall back asleep.
