Citizen Hunters, here's a quick update for you.
Last Thursday, the House of Representatives voted in favor of a domestic spending provision of the war supplemental funding bill which includes a World War II-style GI Bill for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. The final bill will also allow service members who stay in the military to transfer their education benefits to their spouses and children.
Sixty-four years have passed since President Roosevelt signed the original GI Bill into law, making education affordable for eight million World War II veterans. Because of last week's agreement, there is a real chance that we could see a new GI Bill signed within several days and sent to the President.

It's hoped that you have had a good week and are enjoying your weekend. I have been watching the analysis of how Barack and Hillary performed in their first appearance together (Note: There's too many cable networks and air space to fill).
I got the impression that it's going to take time (Da: yeah). I know we Dems want this show while McCain's campaign sputters. Just don't like the idea, though, of folks (example: David Gergen) talking about Hillary possibly being the VP.
We need the young generation to come to the fore. Haven't we had enough of these baby boomers monopolizing everything? Anyhow, that's my take. What you got?
