    • 3:00 p.m. KEMPER PARK BIKE RIDE: 13-14 mph, 15-20 miles. I will continue this ride into the second week of December. After that, work does not allow the luxury of riding.     • 6:00 p.m. GROUP TRAINER BIKE RIDE: Every Tuesday and Thursday night thru the winter, unless circumstances prohibit, there is a group trainer ride 6:10 at Cycle Sport. We follow training videos for a 40min to 1hr workout, not including warm up and cool down. People wishing to "ride" with us need only bring their bike and trainer.     • 6:30 p.m. TRAIL BY NIGHT BIKE RIDE: Leave Corner Ketch Development for a ride on paved or gravel roads through the White Clay Preserve. You need a hybrid or mountain bike with a set of good lights for the front and at least a flicker light for the rear. There are a few spots where there are ruts in the road so a 10W light beam for the front should be used at a minimum. Bring your sense of adventure. The ongoing, every Friday night, all year round, Friday night fitness hike, where we try to work up a sweat exploring the sand roads and trails of Brendan Byrne S.F. Be prepared to walk at an average of 4 MPH, 15 minutes per mile pace with few breaks. Bring water and wear well broken-in boots, shoes, or sneakers (sneakers are adequate in dry conditions). Socks are also important footgear, synthetics and wool being better at preventing blisters (avoid cotton socks).     • 9:00 a.m. WCBC'S ANNUAL SANTA BIKE RIDE: Get into the spirit of the season by decorating your bike, accessorizing your bike clothes, or coming in costume. (Suggested, not required.) We'll start from Paper Mill Park at the intersection of Paper Mill and Polly Drummond Hill Roads in Newark. There will be two rides of different pace and distance. The rides will stay together at first, and separate after a refreshment stop on Main St in Newark. The average speed of the 20-25 mile ride will be 10-12 mph. Much of the terrain will be flat, but there are some rolling sections. The 35 mile ride will average 15-16 mph. Meet at the parking lot at Broad and Elm Streets, Bethlehem, near the post office by 10:45. The pilgrimage starts with a bus ride to Nazareth Moravian Church on Center Square.     • 8:30 a.m. BRANDYWINE STATE PARK AND THE WOODLAWN TRACT HIKE: Depart from Broad and Arch Streets, Philadelphia or call leader for secondary meeting place.     • 9:00 a.m. SAND SPRING AND TOM LOWE TRAILS LOOP: Round Trip Road Miles: 70, Hike Distance: 5+ miles. Hike the Sand Spring and Tom Lowe Trails, a 5-mile loop through varied forest that comes close to the A.T., where we can expand the distance if we like. Another rescheduling of a "weathered out" hike, if it snows we might still do it. The trailhead is near Shartlesville. Bring lunch and water; wear sturdy shoes. Rain or blizzard cancel.     • 9:45 a.m. "THE COMPLETE MONOCACY HILL A-THUR-Z, VOL 1 HIKE: 8 miles, moderate pace. Can we do it and if so how? Join us as we attempt to gently traverse every marked trail at this "Lil 'ole hill" not far from Birdsboro, PA. We will hike on nearly every major trail at least once and only a few trails briefly twice. Can you guess which ones? Join Joan and I as we take in fine views from the top, the side and the bottom! The trail is rocky and steep in places. This lil' hill will provide better than 750 feet of overall elevation gain for the day, and almost 450 feet from the base to the top in just one "huff" alone. Included at no extra charge, the adventurous" walk of the tree cookies" pts. 1 and 2, the small stream and cascade, plus the railroad ruins. No stone will remain unturned, no dirt undisturbed.... We will get muddy, out of breath and joyfully overwhelmed by the wonderful views attained by our challenge. There will be plenty of wimp out points for the less hearty.....provided they can find their own way out!! We will take a "top-o-the-hill" break for munchies and pictures. Sturdy boots and strong wind are highly recommended for the intermediate/experienced hiker....About 4 hours +/- total hike time with munchies break. We will rendezvous at a nearby Super Wawa between 9.10a and 9.30a (US Rt. 442 and Maplewood Ave. , Douglasville , Pa ...just West of Pa. St. Rt. 662 ) beforehand for a morning wake me up , snacks , flush toilets and then caravan for the brief drive to the " hill"... Pit toilets at the parking area. Snow/Ice/Heavy rain will cancel this hike , but a substitute (flatter) hike at different venue possible so register by e-mail and don't miss out on last minute updates and detailed meet directions.... Some hills every now and then. Look for 30-45 miles depending on weather conditions. We will maintain the pace to assure a good base miles type of conditioning to prepare ourselves for the spring. Be sure to call the ride leader if the weather is in doubt. We will NOT ride when temperatures are below 30 degrees at the start.     • 1:00 p.m. GEO-CACHING HIKE AND INTRODUCTION CLASS: Join us for a brief introduction to geo-caching, the upcoming popular outdoor activity, and then hike into the woods at Atsion to find the many geo-caches hidden there. Meet at Batona Trailhead on Coal Road, between the east and west branches of Bass River, just off Stage Road, 3 miles E. of Rt. 679 (from the W.), or 7 miles W. of Tuckerton (from the E.), or 2.5 miles N. of New Gretna (from the S.) for shuttle.     • 6:30 p.m. FLY BY NIGHT IN NORTH WILMINGTON BIKE RIDE: Leave Brandywine High School (Rt. 261, Foulk Road) at the tennis courts for a 20 mile ride through North Wilmington on neighborhood roads; return at approximately 8:00 pm. Both front and rear lights are required for the ride. The pace will be 12-14 mph in order to not outrun our headlights. The ride will be cancelled if black ice conditions exist.     • 9:30 a.m. DOC'S BIKE RIDES: 30-60 miles, Class B-/B. Various local routes starting from the Swarthmore area. Sometimes a lunch stop. Foul weather cancels ride. Call ahead of time for weekly plans. Contact Larry Green at 610-544-5799.
    • 10:00 a.m. EVANS BRIDGE HIKE: 5 miles, easy/moderate pace. Meet at Evans Bridge. Bad weather cancels. Contact Leaders: Norm Lucas, 609-654-5893. Contact Bill Schmitt at 856-767-1838.
    • 10:00 a.m. WICKECHEOCKE CREEK HIKE: 8-10 miles, moderate pace. This will be a pleasant late Fall walk along country roads and some easy trails. The hike includes lovely vistas and a crossing of the last remaining authentic covered bridge in N.J. Meet at Prallsville Mills parking area by the D&R Canal just north of Stockton, NJ (on Rt. 29).     • 6:30 p.m. FLY BY NIGHT BIKE RIDE: Leave the church parking lot next to Papermill Park (at the intersection of Papermill and Ebeneezer Church Rds) at for a 21 mile flat to hilly ride through Newark neighborhoods. The route will be similar to last year with some added twists. The pace will be slow (12-14 mph) so as not to outrun our lights. For more information, contact Mario Nappa at 302-239-1179. Lights front and rear are required. NO GO if there are conditions for black ice or the temp at the start is below 30 degrees on weather.com for Newark
