    • 6:00 p.m. GROUP TRAINER BIKE RIDE: Every Tuesday and Thursday night thru the winter, unless circumstances prohibit, there is a group trainer ride 6:10 at Cycle Sport. We follow training videos for a 40min to 1hr workout, not including warm up and cool down. People wishing to "ride" with us need only bring their bike and trainer.     • 6:30 p.m. TRAIL BY NIGHT BIKE RIDE: Leave Corner Ketch Development (call for directions) for a ride on paved or gravel roads through the White Clay Preserve. You need a hybrid or mountain bike with a set of good lights for the front and at least a flicker light for the rear. There are a few spots where there are ruts in the road so a 10W light beam for the front should be used at a minimum. Bring your sense of adventure. NO GO if the temp is below 40 degrees at the start of the ride (www.weather.com for Newark, DE). We're afraid of ice forming in spots that may be hard to see.     • PHILAVENTURES WISSAHICKON HIKE: PhilaVentures is an outdoor club of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community (LGBT) in the Philadelphia area. Come out and join on an adventurous hike along the Wissahickon Creek in Wissahickon Valley Park every Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon. Participants meet at the Borders located at 8701 Germantown Avenue at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Bethlehem Pike, either outside the front door or in the second floor coffee shop. After convening at the Borders, the group will proceed down Rex Avenue for less than a mile before hitting the periphery of Wissahickon Valley Park. From there you will enjoy two to three and a half hours of hiking, depending on weather conditions. If conditions are too poor the hike usually follows Forbidden Drive.If you have them, you should wear hiking shoes or boots. You should also bring water to drink. Sunday's hike will be lead by Joe H.     • 6:30 p.m. HOLIDAY LIGHTS EXTRAVAGANZA BIKE RIDE: Leave the McDonalds parking lot (intersection of Harmony Rd. and Rt. 4) for a 14 mile ride through neighborhoods all the way to the MD state line. Lights--front and rear--are required. The route will be the flat section of the Fly By Night route with some twists - almost entirely on development roads. The pace will be 10-13 mph to absorb the scenery. Put on extra layers of clothing since there will be minimal climbing to warm you up and plan on a stop at Starbucks in Newark for a mid-ride break/refueling.     • 7:00 p.m. FRIDAY NITE FITNESS HIKE: 8-10 miles, fast pace. The ongoing, every Friday night, all year round, Friday night fitness hike, where we try to work up a sweat exploring the sand roads and trails of Brendan Byrne S.F. Be prepared to walk at an average of 4 MPH, 15 minutes per mile pace with few breaks. Bring water and wear well broken-in boots, shoes, or sneakers (sneakers are adequate in dry conditions). Socks are also important footgear, synthetics and wool being better at preventing blisters (avoid cotton socks). The first Friday of each month there is a dessert/dinner stop after the hike at a local restaurant. Meet at Brendan Byrne S.F. Campground.     • 9:00 a.m. BARKSDALE TRAINING BIKE RIDE: Depart from Handloff Park (formerly Barksdale Park) for 47 rolling to hilly miles at 16-17 mph, steady endurance pace, NOT a race pace. It is NOT the rolling speed, so there may be times when our rolling speed is greater (or less) depending on the terrain, etc. Ride format is double pace line, steady tempo. There are no stops.     • 8:00 a.m. COOPER RIVER PARK HIKE: 6 miles, brisk pace. **The pace for this hike (brisk) will be somewhat faster than many offered in this schedule, and therefore may not be suitable for everyone** A hike at Cooper River Park and adjoining parks. Meet at the National Guard Armory parking lot at Park Ave, and Grove St. in Cherry Hill. This meeting place is one block from the intersection of Rt. 70 and Haddonfield Rd/Grove St. This intersection is at the corner of the old Garden State race track and has a Chili’s bar and grill. A “get it over early” hike with optional brunch with us afterwards at a reasonably priced restaurant. Some hills every now and then. Look for 30-45 miles depending on weather conditions. We will maintain the pace to assure a good base miles type of conditioning to prepare ourselves for the spring. Be sure to call the ride leader if the weather is in doubt. We will NOT ride when temperatures are below 30 degrees at the start.     • 3:00 p.m. KEMPER PARK BIKE RIDE: 13-14 mph, 15-20 miles. I will continue this ride into the second week of December. After that, work does not allow the luxury of riding.     • 6:00 p.m. NIGHTRIDERS BIKE RIDE: 15-20 miles, Class C. We spin around Southern DelCo well in the dark. Bike lights front and rear are a must. Both front and rear lights are required for the ride. The pace will be 12-14 mph in order to not outrun our headlights. The ride will be cancelled if black ice conditions exist.
