- 9:15 a.m. WHITE CLAY CREEK STATE PARK: Class II -10-11 miles. Please join us as we break from winter's doldrums and explore early spring at wonderful White Clay Creek State Park in Delaware. So close to NJ , but yet so different .. White Clay features rolling hills and thick forest... virtually no asphalt for the entire day.. a picnic area for lunch.. the Delaware "Arc" monument .(which has nothing at all in common with Noah's Ark...) This moderately paced hike will be geared to the intermediate hiker and above who is used to doing a five hour hike or so with lunch... our hike will be 99% Asphalt free....mostly on dirt and gravel... we'll see the shimmering creek from several vantage points and use parts or all of the Nature Preserve, Twin Valley, Millstone, and Mason Dixon Trails.. plus cross the Tweeds Mill Bridge... we will even visit Pa. for a bit...there will be toilets , but no running water at the parking lot or picnic area , we may also see some disc golfers in action but we shouldn't have to duck!!!... we will meet at a Super Wawa (where else??) before hand for snacks, drinks, warm facilities. Leaders will be at the Wawa , 2754 Pulaski Hwy (US 40) located aprox. 1 mile west of Glasgow, Del. and the intersection of US 40 and De.
