    • 6:00 p.m. CHADDS FORD BIKE RIDE: 15-25 miles, Class: C+/B-. Meet at Chadds Ford Elementary School, Route 1 and Fairville Rd. Mileage will increase/decrease dictated by amount of daylight. Not quite the cardiac-arresting pace of the A/X, but an experienced fast group ride that will involve HILLS! Please note that when the hills get steeper, the average speed will be obviously slower.     • 7:30 p.m. THURSDAY NIGHT CONTRA DANCE: Glenside Memorial Hall, Waverly Rd. and Keswick Ave., Glenside, PA. Contra dancing is traditional New England social dancing with musicians playing jigs and reels. The dancing is energetic and involves mixing with the other dancers as each couple performs a short routine with another couple before progressing onto the next couple and repeating the sequence. It shares some elements with square dancing such as ''swing your partner'' and ''do-si-do'', but the couples form long lines rather than squares. Contra dancing is easy, mostly involving a smooth walking step. A different routine is taught before each dance by a caller who has everyone ''walk through'' the dance while explaining it. A sister trail to the famous Appalachian Trail (AT), the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT) traverses 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada through some of the most beautiful, remote, and diverse landscapes in California, Oregon and Washington. Learn about this adventure through a documentary filmed on a 2002 thru-hike. Eastern Mountain Sports will provide the Backpacking Clinic, along with informational resources and gear.     • 7:00 p.m. FRIDAY NITE FITNESS HIKE: 8-10 miles, fast pace. The ongoing, every Friday night, all year round, Friday night fitness hike; where we try to work up a sweat exploring the sand roads and trails of Brendan Byrne State Forest. Be prepared to walk at an average of 4 MPH, 15 minutes per mile pace with few breaks. Bring water and wear well broken in boots, shoes, or sneakers (sneakers are adequate in dry conditions). Socks are also important foot gear; synthetics and wool being better at preventing blisters (avoid cotton socks). The first Friday of each month there is a dessert/dinner stop after the hike at a local restaurant. Meet at Brendan Byrne State Forest Campground.     • 6:00 a.m. APRIL APEX MARATHON HIKE: 26 miles moderate expeditionary pace –one that allows us to finish. A loop hike along the D&R Canal / Delaware River on both the NJ and PA sides. Meet at the Washington Crossing State Park parking lot off Route 29 in NJ. Turn left at the traffic light at Rts.29/546 intersection. Then a sharp right just before the bridge.     • 6:00 a.m. EASTERN PA300K BIKE RIDE: College Hill, 300 West Burke Street, Easter, PA. This edition of the PA300k introduces a brand new route that heads up to Hawk's Nest along NY Route 97. Setting out at the new College Hill start/finish, we cross into NJ and head north to Belvidere and Blairstown. After the Blairstown controle, we begin the long climb over the Kittatinny Mountains and descend into the Water Gap Recreation area at Millbrook Village. We continue north up to Port Jervis where we pick up scenic Route 97 that takes us past the Hawk's Nest overlook. We cross the historic Roebling Delaware Aqueduct and then ride along the beautiful Lackawaxen River tow path. Just outside of Hawley, we turn away from the river and head back south through the Delaware State Forest and return to the Water Gap Recreation area via the Dingman's Ferry Bridge. We retrace our path back to Millbrook Village and then continue along the Delaware River all the way back to the Water Gap. We cross back into PA on the Route 80 Delaware River Bridge pedestrian walk. While on the pedestrian walk and for 1 block afterwards, you will be riding on the Appalachin Trail. We continue working our way south along the Delaware River, through Portland, Riverton, and Martin's Creek before the final little grunt up to the College Hill finish. Call 610-559-1145.

    • 9:00 a.m. TAKE TO THE WOODS BIKE RIDE: 18 miles, Class: C. Meet on the North side (Philly) of Route 420 in Prospect Park, PA at the John Heinz Wildlife Reserve side lot. From there we’ll ride the Reserve’s pathways observing nature such as birds, deer, foxes, rabbits, and a whole lot more. Please note that the trail is very tame. This makes the hybrid bike an excellent alternative if you don’t own a mountain bike. Bike rides like this can be an enjoyable alternative when the temperatures are cool.     • 9:00 a.m. BARKSDALE TRAINING BIKE RIDE: Leave from Handloff Park in Newark for 47 rolling-to-hilly miles at 16-17 mph, steady endurance pace, NOT a race pace. The average speed (16-17 mph) is the overall average parking lot to parking lot. It is NOT the rolling speed, so there may be times when our rolling speed is greater (or less) depending on the terrain, etc. Ride format is double pace line, steady tempo. There are no stops.     • 9:00 a.m. MILK RUN BIKE RIDE: 30-miles, rolling terrain, Class: C+. Pennsylvania is one of the few states that allows unpasturized milk sales with frequent testing. The milk has to meet the same standards as the bottle of milk you pick up at the store... and is much fresher. Two local farms sell the milk, and one makes their own cheese. Explore the tree lined flat roads from North Penn out Upper Stump towards the Delaware. We'll return via New Galena passing Peace Valley Park. Stop for snacks at the halfway mark. Follow the path of the Manumuskin River, in Cumberland Co., until it turns into a stream and visit the sight of a long past village, Fries Mill. Some remains of cabins can still be seen and hear some local folklore. If luck holds, early spring is generally a good time for viewing the resident eagle and osprey as well as migrating waterfowl. In 3.5 miles turn right onto Fort Mott Road, and proceed to Fort Mott which is 3 miles down the Fort Mott Road. The route has been marked by the South Jersey Wheelmen, and is the flattest ride you will ever see. Because it is so flat, the pace will be 13-17 mph.     Kimberly, I had a Gastric Bypass in 2000. In total, I lost 250 pounds that left serious skin sagging. Do you know, or any of your readers know, how I can attain plastic surgery with my Health Plan exhausting the cost? I really can use some help.
