Mostly flat back country roads through scenic farm land, 20-30 miles at 14 mph average pace, with one rest stop. Bring helmet, water bottles and everything you need to fix a flat. Directions: Cross over Delaware Memorial Bridge, follow Rt. 295 towards Trenton. Get off at exit 2B, turn left at 1st light and turn into Holiday Inn parking lot on far side of hotel. Contact Ride Leader: Jeff Britton at 610-558-4775. For last minute weather check on ride day call 856-540-2570.
    • 5:30 p.m. MIDDLETOWN BIKE RIDE: Mostly flat spring warm up ride of 16 miles at 15-17 mph. Start at Middletown High School. Call ahead to confirm since there may be occasional travel or weather concerns. Contact Ride Leader: Cal Estrada at 302- 650-5606.
    • 6:00 p.m. HANDLOFF PARK BIKE RIDE: Leave from Handloff Park, Newark (formerly Barksdale Park) at the corner of Casho Mill & Barksdale Roads. Each week this ride will follow one of three different routes. Terrain will be flat on the southern route towards Chesapeake City and rolling to hilly on the northern route into Pike Creek & western route into Cecil County. Average speed will range from 15-17 mph on the flat route to 13-15 mph on the rolling to hilly routes. Distance will range from 25-35 miles depending on speed and daylight. (Helping Everyone Address Risks Today) Program screenings include: Lifestyle risk assessment, Lifestyle risk assessment, Physical fitness evaluation, Blood pressure and leg circulation measurements, Cholesterol and blood sugar testing at Nazareth Hospital, Marian Hall, 2601 Holme Avenue, Philadelphia. Because the screenings include a blood test for fasting blood sugar, screening participants should not eat for eight hours before their appointments. After screenings are completed, registered nurses from Nazareth's Community Outreach Department share the results with participants and, if desired, send them to participants' designated primary care physicians.
