(Helping Everyone Address Risks Today) Program screenings include: Lifestyle risk assessment, Lifestyle risk assessment, Physical fitness evaluation, Blood pressure and leg circulation measurements, Cholesterol and blood sugar testing at Nazareth Hospital, Marian Hall, 2601 Holme Avenue, Philadelphia. Because the screenings include a blood test for fasting blood sugar, screening participants should not eat for eight hours before their appointments.     • 5:00 p.m. CARNEY'S POINT, NJ BIKE RIDE: Leave from the Holiday Inn Express in Carney's Point, N.J. Mostly flat back country roads through scenic farm land, 20-30 miles at 14 mph average pace, with one rest stop. Bring helmet, water bottles and everything you need to fix a flat.     • 6:00 p.m. HANDLOFF PARK BIKE RIDE: Leave from Handloff Park, Newark (formerly Barksdale Park at the corner of Casho Mill Rd. & Barksdale Rd.). Each week this ride will follow one of three different routes. Terrain will be flat on the southern route towards Chesapeake City and rolling to hilly on the northern route into Pike Creek & western route into Cecil County. Average speed will range from 15-17 mph on the flat route to 13-15 mph on the rolling to hilly routes. Distance will range from 25-35 miles depending on speed and daylight. Contra dancing is traditional New England social dancing with musicians playing jigs and reels. The dancing is energetic and involves mixing with the other dancers as each couple performs a short routine with another couple before progressing onto the next couple and repeating the sequence. It shares some elements with square dancing such as ''swing your partner'' and ''do-si-do'', but the couples form long lines rather than squares. Contra dancing is easy, mostly involving a smooth walking step. A different routine is taught before each dance by a caller who has everyone ''walk through'' the dance while explaining it.     • 2:30 p.m. SUNSET PADDLE ON THE CROSSWICKS CREEK/HAMILTON-TRENTON-BORDENTOWN MARSH: The Hamilton-Trenton-Bordentown Marsh is the northernmost freshwater tidal area on the Delaware. This is a 14-mile shuttleless trip on the Crosswicks Creek Canoe Trail. We paddle with the tide from Bordentown to Anchor Thread Park in Groveville. Bring your dinner to eat in the park. We return with the tide as the sun sets on the Marsh; maybe we'll see the “strawberry” moon too. Meet at Bordentown Beach, end of Park St, Bordentown.     • 6:00 p.m. BEGINNER BIKE RIDES FROM SPRINGER MIDDLE SCHOOL: This ride is intended for beginners/families who would like to get out those bikes and ride in a group. The ongoing, every Friday night, all year round, Friday night fitness hike; where we try to work up a sweat exploring the sand roads and trails of Brendan Byrne State Forest. Be prepared to walk at an average of 4 MPH, 15 minutes per mile pace with few breaks. Bring water and wear well broken in boots, shoes, or sneakers (sneakers are adequate in dry conditions). Socks are also important foot gear; synthetics and wool being better at preventing blisters (avoid cotton socks). Then continue pass horse farms and country homes before paddling thru the remains of the dam at Darts Mills. No rentals available and there will be a fee for using the take-out.     • 5:15 p.m. WYOMING BIKE RIDE: These rides will be about 40 miles at 19+ mph average. All roads will be flat and lightly traveled.     • 6:00 p.m. DUNBAR'S BIKE RIDE: These MS Training Rides leave Dunbar's Cyclery on Philadelphia Pike, just north of Washington Street Exte nsion. These rides will run until the end of September, although the starting time will have to be changed a bit as we get into September. There will be a 15 mph group and a group averaging 10-13 mph. No one will be dropped as long as they keep close to the posted speed ranges. Mileage will be 18-23 miles. There will be at least two ride leaders every week to cover both groups.
