- 6:00 p.m. PIKE CREEK BIKE RIDE: Evening rides departing from Ebenezer United Methodist Church parking lot on Polly Drummond Hill Rd in Pike Creek. Monday's ride will be 28-35 miles at 14-16 mph over ultra hilly terrain. (Wednesday's ride will be 32-38 miles but will average a faster pace, 17-19 mph ride over flat to rolling terrain.) Must have tire repair equipment and be able to use it. Both of these rides are pre-racing training rides for those riders who are considered at least B+ riders. You will not be dropped as long as you stay within the average pace range. We wait for everyone at the tops of all major climbs. You should understand the difference between rolling and average speed. Rolling speeds may be considerably more than the average speed, depending on the terrain. Please be able to understand group riding techniques and be able to draft safely. Unsafe riders may be asked to either go to the rear of the ride or leave. - 9:30 a.m. PADDLE WITH THE TIDE ON THE CROSSWICKS/HAMILTON-TRENTON-BORDENTOWN MARSH: Native Americans thrived on these lands more than 10,000 years ago. See where Joseph Bonaparte's Bordentown estate, Point Breeze, was located on the bluffs above the Crosswicks. We'll stop for lunch at Roebling Park and grill hot dogs. - 5:15 p.m. WYOMING BIKE RIDE: Starting out at 17-19 mph for about 25 miles. All roads will be flat and lightly traveled. Meet at the Wyoming Park in Wyoming, DE. The park is located in Wyoming which is just south of Dover on Third Street. Just follow the railroad tracks. Third Street is next to Halls restaurant. - 6:00 p.m. RED LION BIKE RIDE: Evening ride from Red Lion United Methodist Church, Rt. 71 and Church Road (next to Delaware Lawn and Garden), Bear, DE. There will be a "B" ride (15-18 mph) and a "C" ride (10-13 mph). If "A" riders show, their ride is a "Show & Go". The terrain is mostly flat and distance is between 25-35 miles, depending on speed and daylight. Provide your own tire repair equipment and be able to use it. Helmets required. - 6:00 p.m. DUNBAR'S BIKE RIDE: These MS Training Rides leave Dunbar's Cyclery on Philadelphia Pike, just north of Washington Street Extension. These rides will run until the end of September, although the starting time will have to be changed a bit as we get into September. There will be a 17 mph group and a group averaging 14 mph. No one will be dropped as long as they keep close to the posted speed ranges. Mileage will be 18-23 miles. There will be at least two ride leaders every week to cover both groups. - 6:00 p.m. HOCKESSIN BIKE RIDE: Start for a 23-25 mile ride leaving from Hockessin and going through Kennett Square and surrounding areas at about 14-16 mph. Ride schedule will last at least 12 weeks and may continue longer into the fall session if there is enough interest.
