Be prepared to walk at an average of 4 MPH, 15 minutes per mile pace with few breaks. Bring water and wear well broken-in boots, shoes, or sneakers (sneakers are adequate in dry conditions).     • 9:00 a.m. BARKSDALE TRAINING BIKE RIDE: Leave from Handloff Park in Newark for 47 rolling to hilly miles at 15-16 mph, steady endurance pace, NOT a race pace. The average speed (15-16 mph) is the overall average parking lot to parking lot. It is NOT the rolling speed, so there may be times when our rolling speed is greater (or less) depending on the terrain, etc. Ride format is double pace line, steady tempo. There are no stops. HELMETS REQUIRED!!!     • 9:30 a.m. SOMEWHERE BIKE RIDE: 13-14 mph, 30-45 Miles. Start at Cold Spring Elementary School, 4150 Durham Road, Buckingham, PA. February's "somewhere" ride. Winter rules (details dictated by weather conditions); scenic roads; indoor food stop; no hammering; no one dropped.     • 10:00 a.m. PENNYPACK AND LORIMER PARKS HIKE: 5 or 10 miles, moderate pace. A figure eight hike through the parks. Bring lunch; we will eat at the half way point. Meet at the Pennypack Park parking lot off Pine Road. This meeting place is about 20 minutes from the Tacony/Palmyra bridge. Come over the bridge and take the second right at the base onto State Rd (Rt 73). (From there it is 1.7 miles to Rhawn St). Stay to the left when you come to the fork in the road. Turn left onto Rhawn St. and drive approx 4 miles to where the street dead ends into Huntington Pike. Pine Rd is the first street on the right. There is a Dunkin Doughnuts on the corner. Turn right onto Pine Rd and go slightly over 1 mile to the entrance of the parking lot on the right, just before you cross Pennypack Creek.     • 10:30 a.m. LAKE OSWEGO TO SPRING HILL HIKE: About 10 miles. Easy to moderate pace. Starting from Lake Oswego we will take sand roads, fire cuts and trails to the Spring Hill ridge for some high up views of the Pinelands.     • 11:00 a.m. LGNC HIKE: Hike Distance: 5-6 miles. Loop hike that will include a newly opened section of the D&L trail. Hike from Osprey House on the L&N trail, across the three ponds trail and return to Osprey House on the newly opened section of the D&L trail. The D&L trail is bulldozed but not groomed so we can expect muddy and wet areas. Please wear sturdy shoes. Bring water and snacks.Weather and trail conditions will be considered.     • 12:45 p.m. AARON'S TRAINING BIKE RIDE: The ride leaves from Paper Mill Park at the corner of Paper Mill and Polly Drummond Hill Roads. Ride distance will be 35-45 miles (plus or minus 5) with an average speed of 16-18 mph depending on terrain. This training ride is for those wishing to maintain what they developed over the past year. If in doubt about the weather please call the Ride Leader Aaron Chen at 302-731-1456.     • 1:00 p.m. I'VE GOT STUFF TO DO ON SUNDAY MORNINGS BIKE RIDE: Leave Valley Garden Park for a 12-13 mph 25-35 mile moderately hilly ride in DE's and PA's chateau country. Ride series, which will continue each Sunday at 1:00 pm through April, will attempt to choose a different route each week. No ride if severe weather or hazardous conditions.
