- 9:00 a.m. FOUR PARKS IN THREE STATES IN 50 MILES-OFF BIKE ROAD: Leave White Clay Creek State Park, Carpenter Recreation Area (off Route 896, about 2 miles north of U of D). You'll need a mountain bike or cyclocross bike, not a hybrid. We'll use mostly off road trails to ride in parts of White Clay Creek State Park and Middle Run in DE, White Clay Creek Preserve in PA, and Fair Hill in MD. We'll also ride doubletrack, dirt roads, and even some paved roads to link up the parks. Distance will be about 50 miles over flat, rolling, and hilly terrain. Pace will be roughly the equivalent of 14 mph over similar topography on the road. Signage is insufficient for a cue sheet. The Ride Leader will be your guide. We'll stop at each intersection to regroup, if necessary. Bring water and snacks. Possible refueling stops in Pike Creek and Landenberg. Ride will be a no go if trails are soft and muddy.
