I saw that on channel 6, but they didnt indicate that the other cities listed have FAR lower murder rates than Philly. Our rate is up over a 2005 tally that was still high. It stupid to say "murder was up in NYC" as a justification for our ridiculous rate because NYC recently had a 30 year low in murders. Of course it's going to go up from such an impressive total. The bottom line is NYC and MIama and most other large cities are safer than Philly in terms of homicide rates.

Agreed. "Up for the year" or "down for the year" is meaningless to me as long as Philadelphia's rate is so much higher than that of many other cities.
