Milton Street promised to drop out of the mayoral race if he fails to draw a minimum of 5,000 supporters to a noon rally at City Hall on March 1, reports the Daily News reporter who was present.
“If they don’t show up, then I’m out,” Street said. “That’s the end of it. You don’t have to worry about me again. All right? OK?”
So, those of you who have expressed your point of view on Milton so clearly -- and hey, good for you -- make SURE you aren't at City Hall on March 1 at noon. Tell your friends.
And yes, Street has threatened to file a lawsuit against Moorestown police, claiming harrassment and political meddling.
Obviously. Can't a man just fail to pay his tickets without getting the fuzz involved?
Actually, I tried that once in Jersey, and the results were ug-ly.

I still don't understand why nutter is engaging this guy. that a crazy SOB like Milt the Guilt would swing back should have been obvious, and the result is that nutter will be wrapped in this ridiculous side-show while other candidates will be discussing serious issues. As the candidate with the best grasp of the issues, that should have been nutter's time to shine, but he's forfeited it to fattah and evans with this latest gambit.

hmmm - i disagree Phaedrus. I think it was a good media move for him to make yesterday - he spoke what many citizens are thinking and last night i heard from people who didn't even know much about Nutter, praise him for speaking out about Milt ... he got what he was looking for i think: exposure.

Exactly. Nutter was the only candidate (unless you actually count Milton) who made the evening news last night. And he was saying the same thing everyone watching was thinking - that Milton is a ridiculous side show.

Yes, but at what cost? Now, Nutter is part of that side-show. You had to know Milt would swing back, and so the obvious result is what we're now seeing: Milt and Mike in a ridiculous slap contest while fattah, brady, knox and evans are free to discuss issues, knowing nutter took the bullet for them.

I agree with Dave. Michael made a very reasonable statement and Milton pulled another Milton. Michael looks like an adult and Milton looks ridiculous again. Milton even made another racist remark just for good measure.
There is no slap fight and I would bet that Michael will not address the Milton issue again.
