Could we have been misspelling the Shark's name all along?

Ah, so much going on today.

First, and least important, we received an e-mail from Tommy the Loan Shark that spells his name... Tommie.

Which is confusing because on his Web site, Tommie (?) spells his name Tommy. (He has also gone by "Tom.")

Look, it may seem like a minor detail (and, in fact, it IS a minor detail) but we're in the accuracy business, and checking name spellings is the bread and butter of what we do.

    We've e-mailed for clarification.

Oh, and as to the actual ISSUES and news of the day? We're expecting a 1 p.m. press conference from the new 527 that has formed to air ads attacking front-runner Tom Knox. We'll bring you an update as soon as we have one.

At 11 a.m. this morning, Dwight Evans will get the endorsement of the baker's union at a ShopRite on Island Ave., and hand out hamburger buns to continue underscoring his "Where's the Beef" attacks on Tom Knox.

At 1:30, Michael Nutter will be at the Ridge Avenue commercial corridor in Strawberry Mansion to discuss his plan for equitable economic redevelopment.

And at 4 p.m., Chaka Fattah will get the endorsement of the Gas Workers Union, with 2,000 members and retirees, at an event at 7921 Bustleton Avenue.

Sorry for the misspelling. It is TOMMY the Loan Shark. A friend of mine made a mistake while helping me.
