If you like campaign commercials, fire up your VCRs this weeknd

I've got it from a pretty reliable source that the Working People For Truth has purchased some television time this weekend. I'm pretty sure they're the same as the Economic Justice Coalition for Truth. (Wendy ETA: Or, could we be seeing another group that's formed?) Either way, they don't like Tom Knox very much.

They bought $35,000 worth of time on Channel 10 for Saturday and Sunday. The spots are called "Fake, Fake" and "Snicker."

They're also spending $34,100 on Channel 3 to put two different spots, called "Record" and "Service" up for the weekend.

WPVI was booked up and they're not buying Channel 29.

Meanwhile, and it would have to be coincidentally or else it would be illegal, the Brady campaign just (and I mean within the last few minutes) sent out this press release announcing that Bob Brady is putting out an ad "revealing the Real Tom Knox."

You know, I had a suspicion that the Knox we've been seeing was actually a guy with a mask.

Does it seem "fishy" to anyone else that the folks for truth would be buying such an anemic amount of advertising while Brady, who's gotta be running low on cash himself, is also putting out an anti-Knox ad? Combined, it would seem like their efforts would have enough of a saturation level to get the message out. I'm not saying they're "coordinating" exactly... maybe it's just one big coincidence.

Meanwhile, Michael Nutter will probably be passing out free copies of the bulldog edition Inquirer this weekend while he does his meet and greets this weekend.

At this point, Nutter, Fattah and Evans may just want to let Knox and Brady go at it for a while and then conduct a nice, gentlemanly election among the three of them on May 15th.
