(edited to add) Like I promised, click here for the podcast of this morning's show. Feel free to download it to your .mp3 playing device so you can listen to it while you're on the treadmill. Wait... you mean not everyone does that?
I just wanted to start a thread so people can jump in and give their thoughts on what they're hearing from candidate Fattah.
The show will be starting momentarily. You can either tune your radio to 91FM or click this link for instructions on how to listen live.
I'll put up the link to the podcast later today for those of you who missed it.
I'm heading down to the control room to watch the interview so everyone have at it in the comments!
(Edited to add) As promised... podcast of Chaka Fattah's interview on Radio Times.

Sounds like he has a shaky funding plan with no backup.

He keeps saying he's "gotten 1,000 guns off the street" but are they the guns that are killing people? Gun buy-back programs don't guarantee that (in fact, I think studies have shown that probably isn't the case).

I agree with him on expanding the youth violence prevention partnership city-wide. Mayoral candidate Michael Nutter has this in his crime plan and city council at-large candidate Derek Green (who I'll be voting for) has also vocally supported this.

His plan for replacing the gross receipts tax with a net profits tax depends on taxing businesses that currently aren't taxed (like banks, that have some good reasons for not being taxed and have good lobbies in city hall and Harrisburg). He keeps failing to mention this whenever he talks about his BPT reform plan.
I also happen to think that his "tax neutrality" plan that offers new businesses moving into the city the same rate they were getting where they moved from is extremely unfair to businesses that have stuck it out in Philly in spite of the high tax rates. If I were one of them, I'd be so pissed I'd probably move.

Fattah is clueless and doesn't have a prayer.
