Less than week after using the electoral success of a previously-unknown Philadelphia City Councilman with a controversial crime plan as the impetus for his own controversial crime plan, Baltimore City Council Vice-President Robert W. Curran has decided... not so much with the crime emergency.

Thank goodness Baltimore still has some sort of checks and balances in place, while it's still yet to be determined if Philadelphia has the same. For I've yet to hear any government official, the press or whoever else in Philadelphia come forth with something as straight to the point and right on target as: "...it was the kind of legislation that led to fascism in Europe." But see, Baltimore is a city which the U.S. relies very heavily on to remain stable, and let me just say, sane. Particularly with the major and very active seaport it has. Which Philadelphia once had, but no more, of course. No one's paying attention to Philadelphia now. And apparently Philadelphia isn't either. At least the way it needs to.
