The Daily News' Chris Brennan is on the scene of the Knox satellite office robbery.
A more details... It was the satellite office's manager who was robbed. And there may be surveillance video of the robbery.
Volunteers, understandably, were upset by the gun and by the loss of some of the office's money. "It's very cruel -- people have to be paid to work," said Rob, a volunteer who wouldn't give his last name.
Josh, another volunteer, said he found out about the job on Craigslist. The pay was $50 per shift and then $125 for election day -- all cash.
This office in the shadow of the El, and the front windows bear hand-written Knox signs: "Tom Knox, one of Frankford's sons, and one of Frankford's own..."
We'll bring you more when we get it. (Here's our first post on the situation.)

Whichever campaign is behind this is disgusting.

I've heard that Brady in the past has not been below using dirty or even criminal tactics to get what he wants.

Wendy that was really terrible taking " Employee Salaries " at gun-point.. man !!
Thank God no one was physically injured. I suggest giving the office manager and staffer some time off. That was mentally traumatic.

has it occurred that maybe these WERE Knox's workers and they knew there was all that cash? I've sat at offices with cash to pay workers before, its always the risk you run.
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2007 3:56 PM
what do they look like?
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2007 3:59 PM
I agree i believe it was Knox's own..who else would know the cash was there?
Either that or he set this up for "sympathy" votes--kinda like Street last election :)

This is what happens when you organize a campaign around criminals. Eventually, they're going to steal from you.

No way this was Knox's own workers wearing their own campaign shirts and... NOT. WEARING. MASKS. you idiots.

God I love this city
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2007 4:14 PM
maybe the people in the office split the money and just said they were robbed

No credible reports of Brady ever using criminal tactics exist. But of course, any moron is entitled to make false statements.
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2007 4:15 PM
yes, yes you are.

Brady and his suburban union goons?
Hello?
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2007 4:22 PM
If Brady wins it shows how stupid this city is
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2007 4:24 PM
Brady has to win,his wife needs ANOTHER 100,000 a year job doing NOTHING
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2007 4:25 PM
Sadly, Debbie's no-bid city contract funded job is a 9 year deal. Even when Brady loses, Deb is still going to be picking up a cool $100K/year of tax-payer dough, as an "office manager".

It was Nutter's thugs.

anyone who has volunteered at a campaign office knows that there is a lot of "walking around money (wam)" in campaign offices on election day. i am surprised this has never happened before...
Posted by JCary | May 15, 2007 5:04 PM
It was $300. Is that a "lot of money" to anyone (notwithstanding crackheads, of course)? It was the money to pay the inside office people. The street money was long gone by 1 p.m. (Duh!)

Maybe this is more political dis-information!! Who knows who is doing or saying what to try to sway attitudes or sympathies. Of course, this is Philly.. anything could happen!!

The robbery was for real. It was on police radio and founded. The detectives were still there for hours.

i was one of the workers and volunteers for this campaign,i was in the office the same day the robbery took place, thank g-d the majority of the workers werent there when it happened...whoever thinks this is part of brady's campaign tactics, take a shovel, or something sharp and heavy and beat urself over the head with it until u can't feel feelings anymore..thats the dumbest shit ive ever heard. of COURSE it was one of the campaign workers, i was there to see and hang around the workers and they were completely ghetto, mostly incompetent people, but they knew where the office was, they knew where the cash was, they were in and out, no hesitation, so if u think otherwise stop, think, beat urself with something heavy, and then write.
