“A blanket stop and frisk program is the wrong solution to the problems of crime and violence that plague Philadelphia,” Evans stated today. “The Philadelphia Police Department should focus on identifying, targeting, and arresting criminals who are actually causing the most violence and disorder -- armed career criminals -- not randomly shaking down community members who fit a particular racial or age profile.”
So Evans is flat out saying that Nutter will employ a racially-centered tactic. I really thought Evans was above playing the race card. Very disappointing.

But he does have beefy record thats high in protein but doesn't skimp on flavor.
All of the Nutter supporters on here better get used to this. Your guy is the front runner now. Along with that comes scrutiny and attacks.
Enjoy.

Actually, Rep Fattah pointed out that the stop and frisk policy could become a profiling issue if abused or misused, and I also believe it was pointed out that almost 3/4's of the murders last year were black men. If you go in a neighborhood where it is predominately black where crime rates are high, then it's logical to assume that black people would be the people you'd want to keep an eye on. It's not like driving up the turnpike where all races are driving and black or brown people are being singled out. In the PW last week the top 10 drug corners were discussed and I'm sure that there is a mix of races at those locations as well selling, buying, and transporting drugs!! If you go where the crime is, you'll get the criminals. Why don't we get the NBA office to conduct a profiling poll for Philly crime?

Evans has no other choice than to play the race card. He has no support in this town. That's why Ed Rendell endorsed him. It's a safe play, he won't even come in second to last! Evans is unemotional when speaking about the issues, lacks charisma and leadership and is about as effective as Al Gore and Jon Kerry was when it comes to getting his message out. He is a political stiff who needs to be hid away in harrisburg where he can do some anonymous good.
