Michael Nutter announced today that he has raised $3.4 million dollars for his campaign. That's to date, since he announced his candidacy.
Still, that's a lot of money.
And some of it has been coming in lately: $325,000 was contributed in the last four days alone.
We'll see fund-raising disclosures by the other candidates this week -- the deadline to report is Friday -- but by releasing this news early Nutter is clearly trying to underscore the idea that he's peaking in prime time.
A recent poll -- and the ad starring his daughter, Olivia -- may be erasing any fears out there that a vote for Nutter is a vote lost, which is something that more than a couple of people had expressed to me in the weeks before his momentum seemed to turn.

The latest SurveyUSA poll has Knox with 29 percent and Nutter surging into second with 27 percent, 13 points better than the last poll for NBC10.

And these poll numbers were before we see Knox attack ads for the next two weeks. I'll join the chorus- Knox is a Fake, a phony and a liar. Let Michael "The Real Reformer" Nutter ride to victory on E-day.

Nutter for Managing Director - you all should realize that he cut his teeth in politics on backroom deals and political favors...he still is doing it!

You're an idiot to say that he should be Managing Director...you mean it as an insult, but it's the second most powerful position in City government.

That Nutter is bringing in lots of donations is a great sign. People realize he has a very good chance of winning.
