Fattah seems really angry that his campaign is a failure. Anybody else see that?

Brady & Nutter were the clear victors once again. I wish Nutter would've continued to mention that his daughter goes to a Philadelphia public school, while both of Fattah's daughters go to private schools. Having a daughter that atends public schools is indeed a motivation to make schools better. Fattah's came across like an idiot...now I'm sure I don't want him as mayor, and perhaps not even representing my district in the house.
I love Brady's style though -- very Rizzoesque, if you will. He seems truly genuine. Neverthelss, I'm voting for Nutter: The Smart Candidate !

Brady showed himself to be the chauvinist, old school politician he is.... how dare he say that girls entering vo-tech can only surmount to nurses and hair beauticians! Fattah's strategy to attack Nutter would've been effective if he were more articulate and concentrated on other subjects besides poverty. Evans, as always, remained poised. Knox sounded like he was reading the scripts from all his commercials. Nutter outperformed everyone, stuck to outlining his vision and agenda, though he seemed a little rattled by Fattah's "attacks"

Brady was excellent because he is real -the others (except knox) mean well, but they will promise us things that will not and/or cannot be done.
I am voting for Brady. I respect the endorsements from DA Abraham and Jon Saidel and I am confident that with Saidel committed to working in tandem with Bob, our city will rise to its greatness. I also think that Nutter will be a part of the Brady Administration, since they are good friends and hold each other in high regard.
My vote is for Brady...now -we will soon hear from anonymous!

Of all the candidates in the debate Friday night I found Brady by far the most warmly entertaining -- that is, warmly entertaining in the nostalgic sense. For watching him was like seeing a Stutz Bearcat in mint condition chugging by me at an antique auto show, between the 1937 Duesenberg and 1958 Edsel. And that's not a knock of Brady by any means for I love those old classic cars. But...is that what I want to be riding in when traveling U.S. I-95 at rush hour? At the other extreme, Nutter came across as the elementary school bus driver who probably shouldn't be -- especially on I-95 at rush hour.
And though Brady's pointing out Knox's one time ownership of Haliburton stock (which I hope for Knox's sake he no longer has and he never made any money on) was cause for a big "Ouch!" in my heavily leaning towards Knox once more, I had to keep in mind that I once owned shares of Arakis Energy, which later it came to light relied heavily on slave labor when building the Sudanese Pipeline. For the record, I had no knowledge of this while I was invested in it, and I'm proud to say I lost all the money I had in it.
As for the other candidates? Fattah never looked worse while Evans simply didn't come across as mayoral material for a city as diverse as this.

I wasn't paying too much attention.
I yelled "poverty!" every time it was Fattah's turn to speak. Funny thing was he always echoed me. Not very inspiring.
I kind of tune out Knox when he speaks because the "big boss politics" and "back-room deals" are wearing kind of thin.
I also felt like Nutter should've pointed out that his daughter goes to public school, but then I'm sure everyone's seen the ad by now.
Evans was alright. Don't remember anything he said.
Brady left me thinking "huh?" when he told the story about the brain surgeon... and, yes, that was funny about the "ladies" becoming nurses and beauticians, or whatever it was.

I was surprised by Fattah's change in approach--and how weak and desperate I think it makes him appear, appalled by Brady's reference to "ladies" being able to get cosmotology and nursing training (enter the new millenium Bob!) and dumbfounded that everyone doesn't see right through Knox. Too bad Brady didn't bring up the Blackwell alliance, but of course that could backfire on him (Knox could bring up the Carol Campbell alliance, for example).
I was impressed by Evan's response regarding Vallas, and I think Dwight did better than usual, although he still has a propensity to not answer the question that was asked. And his asking of Knox what he did for public safety in the Rendell adminstration (twice) was ridiculous.
I thought Michael stood up to Fattah quite well, and I was impressed that he continues to be the only candidate to stay above the fray (Knox pretended to stay above the fray, but of course we've all seen his rebuttal ads).

By far this was the best debate of the campaign. I have no idea what goes through fattah's mind. while his focus on poverty is inspiring he's demeanor is anything but. Evans...good guy but can't seem to get his message across and that's a shame considering his abilities as a leader. nutter was good but too messiah like. Brady...wow. his faults are among his best assests. Let's face it policy papers aren't going to solve anything but he sold me last night because of the passion and energy he gives to the room. before this I was sorta leaning to Knox. But after last night not way. What a god damn prick/jerk. I'm kinda sick of hearing about pay to play...My mom was a committeewoman in the 8th ward. she worked everyday all year for her neighbors, for free. after last night i'm beginning to feel insulted by his remarks. And he's a war profiteer to boot?
I'm still undecided but leaning towards Bob. I think many of us can relate to him. Who knows though someone else could sway myu vote (probably Evans)

I'm not sure what "too messiah like" means, but for me, Nutter clearly has the best grasp of the issues facing our city. It amazes me how Fattah doesn't see the connection between taxes, jobs, education, pay-to-play and poverty. Just saying the word poverty doesn't do anything about it. I realize his opportunity agenda is more substantive than that, but Nutter could just as easily name his policy proposals the same thing. Nutter's focus on jobs and his eagerness to take back control over the public schools is about poverty. Poverty is a sympton of larger problems. It's not the central issue. If it were, we could just feed and house everyone and be done with it. Nutter's seems to better understand the fundamentals of how to bring the most people out of poverty. That's not a slam against Fattah, who I'm sure means well and is doing a service by focusing on the poverty issue, but Nutter seems a step above in understanding the full scope and relatedness of the issues.
Brady: He may be a good guy to get a beer with, but that doesn't mean I want him to be mayor. I'd like to think we can elect more than just a common man to such an important position. Brady--nice guy, but not sharp enough to lead an up and coming international city. I'd like my mayor to be smarter than me. That's a fairly low standard, but I don't get the feeling Brady is a top of the class kind of guy.
Knox: Yikes. Who are these people who are so persuadable by television ads and marketing? Plus, his willingness to dance with Jannie Blackwell is enough to automatically disqualify the guy as far as I'm concerned.
Evans: It's unfortunate that he hasn't been able to connect with the voters better. I'm glad he's our congressman in Harrisburg. I'd support him again for that position or if he wanted to run for U.S. Senate in 2010. He would probably make a good mayor, but it's just not his year. I can understand why people would support him, but I hope they'll reconsider if for no other reason than to vote against Knox.
Nutter for Mayor

Exactly. Brady would be great guy to have a beer with. Though, he answered questions by listing his various endorsement, instead of addressing the point.
He clearly does not have the ability to effectively manage a city.
As for Fattah, what a joke. Nothing but divisive tactics. I think he would be a worse mayor than Knox, and that would be bad.

I think Brady has an important role to play in the city with respect to bringing the unions together. I hope he continues to be effective in that regard. However, I don't think he would make a good mayor. Being mayor requires a much broader set of skills. It requires a level of sophistication and depth that Brady just doesn't have.
I feel like Philly is on the cusp of something great. We need a mayor of excellence that can elevate the city into a magnet for commerce and opportunity for all, with efficient and effective city services. While not perfect, I think Nutter is best positioned to lead Philly to that next level.

I am generally very cynical when it comes to politicians but I was genuinely warmed by Mr. Brady's presence. He won me ovet tonight, I'm voting for Brady.
