The best quote of the day

Daily News reporter Stephanie Farr was just in the 21st and in the Ninth Ward. She says she's seeing a "steady" flow of voters at the polls.

In the Ninth, they say they are expecting 50 percent turnout. As of this afternoon, they are already at 300 voters of 700 total in one Chestnut Hill polling place she visited.

Voters said they wish that the casino question had been on the ballot. Voters also said they had enjoyed the election, and that it had been "clean" -- until the end.

In fact, it was on that point that Stephanie got what must be considered the Quote of the Day:

It was clean -- until the final days, said one voter, when "everyone pulled their pants down and let it all hang out."

    Carolyn:

This was my first time voting in my relatively new neigborhood and may be my last. The Robert Clemente Recreation Center at 18th and Wallace should be torn down. What a disgusting location. What a poor excuse for workers. I think one of them was drunk. The placed smelled, there are no windows, it was dirty, and there was very poor lighting. Just a completly gross experience. I could not wait to get the heck out of there. It was like having to go to a crack house to vote.

Carolyn, sorry it was bad for you but many of the City's recreation centers are like that. No excuse it is definitely time for a change in City Hall.

I feel bad for you, Carolyn. My polling place was staffed by stone-sober PhDs, had ornate stained glass windows which cast a soothing light on the proceedings, and smelled only of the complimentary caviar, which you could eat off the floor, so clean was the facility. Seriously, if you think that place has any resemblance to a crack house, then I'd like to show you a crack house. Get over yourself.
